About Houtbosdorp

Houtbosdorp is a small holding located on a hill and boasting beautiful mountain surroundings and magnificent bird life. Houtbosdorp is just 1km from the Crocodile River and approximately 25km from Hartbeespoort Dam.

Accommodation

Nestled against the Magaliesberg Mountain rage there are ten wooden houses that can sleep 28 guests at a time with spectacular mountain views. Relax and enjoy the sound of wild birds and the variety of trees in the garden.

The units are self-catering so you can cook up your own meals or enjoy the excellent restaurants in our area.

The wendy houses have beds with bedding, fans, oil heaters, gas stoves, electric frying pan, cutlery, crockery, fridges in some and in some bar fridge, kettles and each house has its own BBQ area. Some units have tvs.

Guests have access to shared ablution facilities and shared bush shower with a gas geyser.

Facilities

We have two bomas and a splash pool. There is also a braai area for the houses. The entire lodge is available on a self catering basis.

Please note that the last 3 km of the road leading to Houtbosdorp is a gravel road which is not suitable for vehicles with a low clearance.

Houtbodorp is surrounded by the majestic mountain range, and is very polular for water sport, river rafting, hiking and hot air ballooning during sunrise.

My husband and I needed a break from city life and booked at Houtbosdorp. What a true and unique experience. We absolutely enjoyed the tranquil and beautiful surroundings. The log cabins are clean and spacious. We were amazed by all the birds and even had a baboon visiting from a distance. If you need a break, book at Houtbosdorp! You will be pleasantly surprised. Thank you Brenda and Thomas for your hospitality and for this unique experience.
