Set in a private corner surrounded by rugged kopjes, amid the distinctive succulents and aloes of the Klein Karoo, Goose House Cottage at Daniel’s Kraal has been thoughtfully renovated. Guests can enjoy a hot tub, outdoor shower, indoor fireplace, comfortable seating areas both inside and out, a classic “ball and claw” bathtub, and beautifully appointed linens.

Self-Catering Accommodation

This charming one-bedroom self-catering cottage, originally an old labourer’s home, has been transformed into a fully equipped retreat. It features an en-suite bathroom, a cosy lounge, and a kitchen with a log stove to warm the house on crisp winter evenings.

During the colder months, the wood-burning fireplace in the kitchen and dining area radiates warmth throughout the home, perfect for cooking a hearty Karoo meal on the gas stove. Guests can also request a bespoke hamper at the time of booking, filled with local Klein Karoo produce.

The front stoep provides a delightful spot for afternoon teas, while the back stoep overlooks a natural Karoo garden complete with a braai area, outdoor shower, and hot tub, ideal for cooling off or enjoying a warm soak with a glass of local port or champagne. This secluded section of the property is rarely visited by humans, with only klipspringers, riverine rabbits, and a variety of birds wandering through, ensuring complete privacy.

Activities

Active guests can explore the surrounding hills on foot or by mountain bike, discovering the many passes and trails nearby. Geese often pay friendly visits to check for any treats on offer. The night skies are exceptionally clear, providing a breathtaking display of stars, which can be best enjoyed by spreading blankets on the front lawn and taking in the celestial show.
