This has to be one of the most disappointed places that I have stayed in. We were kept stranded outside when we needed to check-in as the host was late. The rooms upstairs have a damp/mouldy smell. We were not given enough toilet paper and the B&B contains a book of rules including restrictions on the WiFi use. On the morning of the day we checked out the WiFi did not work. For what we paid It was not good value for money.

Another quaint and charming small guest house that seem to be a speciality in South Africa. Yolishwa fixed brilliant eggs and mushrooms. Nadeem was an engaging guide and really gave me a strong sense of the surrounding areas and culture. I left with a smile on my face.

Rising above the rest......This is how you feel at Blue On Blue Bed and Breakfast. Looking out at the sea, you are floating above, your troubles crashing away with the sound of the waves. OK, perhaps I am getting too poetic as it is late tonight, but this has been a wonderful stay so far. Cheery interior decorations of local arte bring a smile. Yuliswa or Nadim greet you in the morning and set the tone for the day with a satisfying breakfast meal. The only drawback is that this seaside relaxation has made me feel a bit too lazy to venture too far. The city centre is close, but feels a world away when you can walk along the seashore, stop for some periperi prawns in the harbour and then grab a gelato whilst shopping at the boutiques along main road...I'm not complaining. There's always tomorrow!

We loved Blue on Blue! The location in picturesque St James was perfect for our wanderings into other areas of the Cape or for relaxing with a good book and gorgeous view. Lovely gardens, vineyards and the many sights of Capetown are all easily accessible from this beautiful setting. Because our stay was short we were delighted and grateful to Nadeem and Yoliswa for being our tour guides as well as cooking up a delicious daily breakfast to start us on our day. Their detail to our comfort and service as well as their extensive knowledge of local customs and culture heightened our appreciation and pleasure.We left Blue on Blue wanting to stay longer...cannot recommend enough.
