About Birdwood Guest House
Built in 1903 for Mr. Heyes of Melrose House fame, Birdwood is one of the oldest remaining manor homes. Nestled in the hills surrounding Pretoria, the suburb of Hatfield provides a refuge from the urban hustle of the capital. Within this Jacaranda lined setting, stands a gracious villa, a landmark of elegance and tranquility dating from the turn of the century.
Accommodation
Every en-suite bedroom is individually designed and decorated to suit the classical style of the period; some of them situated around the pool in the lush estate gardens surrounding the old Manor House. All are equipped with aircon, under-floor heating, lockup safe satellite TV with video channel, laundry service, telephone, fax and e-mail facilities, mobile phone rentals are available.
A 24 hour security service with secure parking is also provided. Charming period suites provide every luxury and homely comfort for our special guests.

The elegant setting of the Birdwood dining room is enhanced by silver, crystal and bone china with dishes made of the freshest ingredients, all served with flair and personal attention.

Location
Birdwood is a five minute walk away from Loftus Rugby Stadium, the Hatfield Gautrain Station as well as Hatfield Shopping Centre, Pretoria's trendy nightlife suburb and within walking distance to 26 embassies as well as the Virgin Active Health and Fitness Centre.
Tours can be arranged to the Wildlife Cheetah Trust, Elephant Sanctuary, Pilansberg Game Park, Kruger National Park, Sun City, the gold mines, Cullinan Diamond Mine, Soweto as well as a host of other activities. Shuttles to and from the airport, Gautrain Station, shopping malls or restaurants are also available.
