Ashanté Boutique Retreat is a secluded eco-sanctuary set along the untouched banks of the Olifants River. Born from a deep reverence for nature and a desire to step away from the noise of modern life, Ashanté, meaning “Thank You”, a heartfelt tribute to the land and its enduring beauty.

Self-Catering Accommodation

The Ananda Cabin offers an inviting balance of rustic charm and refined comfort. Designed for privacy and peace, this one-bedroom cabin features a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, an indoor shower, and an additional outdoor shower for an immersive nature experience.

The open-plan kitchen and living area are fitted with thoughtful essentials and anchored by a cosy two-way fireplace, coffee machine and neccessary faclities for catering for yourselves.

Guests can enjoy a private deck complete with a braai area and a wood-fired hot tub, ideal for stargazing or relaxing after a day of outdoor adventure. Added comforts include binoculars, a birdwatching guidebook, and solar-powered energy for sustainable living. River access is available, and pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

Location & Attractions

Located just over two hours from Cape Town, Ashanté Boutique Retreat lies at the foot of the majestic Cederberg Mountains near Clanwilliam, one of South Africa’s oldest towns. This historic gem is the only place in the world where rooibos tea is cultivated and is renowned for its handcrafted veldskoens.

The town’s rich heritage is on full display with seven national monuments, including the original Jan Disselsvalleij farmhouse, an 1820 Settler’s house, and a former jail now serving as a museum. With its unique blend of cultural depth and natural splendour, Clanwilliam is the perfect backdrop for your retreat at Ashanté.
