About Angelos Café
Angelo’s Cafe has become a well-known dining institution in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth. The first street-side café opened in Parliament Street, Central, more than a decade ago and was a hit from the beginning.
Very generous portions, tasty variety and rock-bottom prices were, undoubtedly, the secret to the success of Angelo’s. A little over a year ago, Angelo’s opened in 6th Avenue, Walmer and, in December 2012, the third branch opened at the beachfront.
With views of Shark Rock Pier and Hobie Beach, this "Afritalian Café" is a modernised, revamped version of classic Angelo’s. The meals have also been spruced up a little and now include rustic homemade fries and elegant presentation. The prices are still very reasonable.
Lamb chops (three in a portion) with balsamic reduction on the side were tasty and well presented. This Angelo’s, like its other branches, continues to have the challenge of inept service, though, so this should be taken into account.
The restaurant is situated just below Barney’s Tavern.
