Your private guide will drive you to Stellenbosch, a fertile area of vines which replaced the wildlife & nomadic Khoisan peoples who had lived there undisturbed for millenia
Today, Stellenbosch is known for its beautiful architecture, renowned wines & world famous university.
Visit an old time shop which sells typical SA goods & go on a cellar tour before travelling over the beautiful Hels Pass on route to Franschoek named after the French Hugenot's who settled there in the 1690's
On a wine farm, surrounded by mountains taste the wonderful vintage's including Pinotage which is SA's own unique cultivar. Near Paarl, see the Mandela statue at the entrance of the prison he was incarcerated in.
Paarl means “Pearl”, in Dutch, & refers to the imposing granite mountains surrounding the town. The Taal monument, dedicated to the Afrikaans language, is the world’s only monument to a language.
A highlight on this tour is a visit to the cheetah outreach program, entrance fee included.
