We take a drive along the Port Elizabeth beach front, climb to the top of the lighthouse before making our way to the southern entrance of the bay at Cape Recife or the ‘Cape of Rocks’ as named by the early explorers. Here we visit the penguin rehabilitation centre before continuing around the rugged and picturesque coastline with spectacular views over the Indian Ocean stopping to view some of the endless golden beaches, fringed in places by colossal sand dunes.

Morning pick up at your place of residence in Port Elizabeth and we make our way along the Port Elizabeth beach front, passing Humewood beach, Hobie Beach and Shark Rock pier on our way to Cape Recife.

We take a guided tour oft SANCCOB, marine bird re-habilitation project before we make our way to the Cape Recife Lighthouse car park.
Here we stop and disembark before taking a walk to the Lighthouse along the tarmac road where a suitable place will be selected for an orientation to the Cape Recife Lighthouse and Lighthouses in general.

Leaving the Cape Recife Lighthouse, we board the tour vehicle and continue in an easterly direction along the Port Elizabeth Wild Side scenic drive until we reach our next destination, a cannon which was once part of the cargo of the Santissimo Sacramento, a Portuguese Man O War, that sunk in Cannon Bay, with many crew and passengers on board in 1647.

Taking in the view and the cannon on a short break before continuing our way inland away from the coast.

We stop for a light lunch at a local restaurant before we continue our way back to the shoreline and stop once again at a view site overlooking an expansive beach. and huge sand dunes.

Continuing back inland through picturesque countryside as we make our way back to Port Elizabeth and drop off at your place of residence in the afternoon.
