Betty's Bay

Betty’s Bay is situated on the southern coast of South Africa in the province of the Western Cape halfway between Cape Town and Hermanus in the region known as The Overberg. Bettys Bay is quiet seasonal holiday village, ideally suited to those who prefer outdoor living. Walking, hiking, swimming, surfing, cycling, whale watching and sand boarding are the sort of activities that can be enjoyed here.

There are lovely long silver sandy beaches, as well as a selection of small private beaches with rocks and rock pools surrounding them, especially suited to children. Even in the busy season, the beaches are not heavily populated. Close to Betty’s Bay are the attractions of the Stony Point land-based Penguin Colony, Harold Porter National Botanical Garden and the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve.

At Stony Point, the boardwalk makes penguin viewing a special treat. Of course, there are many other bird species to be viewed in the area. The walks, hikes, picnic spots and cycle routes in the Harold Porter Gardens and Kogelberg Reserve are spectacular. These wilderness areas form the central core of the Cape Floral Kingdom and are home to a huge range of flora and fauna species. The Palmiet River is also a favourite for swimming or canoeing.

Location

Betty’s Bay is centrally located with Cape Town, Cape Town International Airport, Hermanus and the Cape Winelands all a 60-90 minute drive away. The Arabella and Kleinmond Golf Courses are 20 and 10 minutes drive away. Betty’s Bay is definitely a worthwhile holiday destination and this self-catering accommodation is the ideal place to stay and get away from it all.
