The Retreat is a luxury guest house situated in the coastal village of Betty’s Bay. Roughly one hour’s drive from Cape Town it is in the heart of the whale watching coast and is a five minute walk to the romantic Silversands beach.

Accommodation


We offer beach-house luxury with a choice of four individually decorated accommodations.

Sacred Ibis
Sacred Ibis is a luxury suite with full en suite sandstone finished bathroom. It has a queen size bed dressed in white percale with splashes of fuschia and is adjacent to a charming courtyard with plunge pool and built in braai facilities.

Waterberry
Waterberry is a superior double room with dressing room and en suite shower. It has a soft, sunny botanical theme coupled with white percale linen.

Wild Strawberry
A smaller , but special double room decorated in Green and Pink with luxury white percale bedding. Ensuite bathroom has both bath and shower but no TV. Has entrance from inside and garden outlook.

Blue Crane
A Romantic luxury honeymoon pied a terre . A queen size bed decorated in white percale and accented in soft blues and greys with a French country studio feel. Seperately situated in the garden with ensuite shower and private braai area with fridge crockery and cutlery. Has Flat screen Tv and tea and coffee making facilities.

The complete privacy and intimacy of the rooms create the ideal setting for honeymooners, two couples holidaying together, and a secluded getaway for unaccompanied travelers.

Facilities


We offer a massage facility in Sacred Ibis with a choice of deep tissue, Kahuna, head and shoulders, reflexology and hot stone. A detox programme can be tailored to suit the tastes of the individual. There is a wonderful hot tub in the fynbos garden with stunning views of the mountain that affords the perfect way to view the starry night sky. A sure way to de-stress ultra quickly!

Betty’s Bay


Situated in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, Betty’s Bay is part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. Thousands of plants are found in the area as well the well known Protea and Erica species. The Reserve is a bird watching paradise while baboons, grey mongoose, gennets, porcupine and buck can be encountered if you are lucky enough to spot them.

The world renowned Harold Porter National Botanical gardens are to be found here and a walk to one of its two waterfalls is a must for nature lovers. White sandy beaches contrasted with rocky shores, waterfalls, and fresh water lakes create a paradise of biodiversity.

DIRECTIONS:

Take the N2 towards Sir Lowry's Pass from Cape Town, pass Somerset West and turn right at the Gordon's Bay turn-off. Turn left at the T-junction at Gordon's Bay and head out on the R44/Clarence Drive until you find picturesque Betty's Bay.

If you are arriving from further afield, take the N2 towards Cape Town until you find the Hermanus/Botrivier offramp. Turn left at the T-junction. Continue along until you find the R44 and turn right to Kleinmond. Continue along until reaching Betty's Bay.
