Inri the owner gave up her hectic corporate life of retail fashion to start Riversong 5 years ago. As well as running the guest houses, Inri enjoys painting and making jewellery which are for sale at the Guest house. Today Riversong Guest House is one of the most popular guest houses in the Southern suburbs hosting local and overseas guests, some of them celebratory sporting and TV personalities.

Accommodation

Riversong Guest House offers 7 bedrooms, all elegantly stylish. The spacious bedrooms and suites have comfortable beds and pillows, shared satellite TV, well stocked mini bar and snack basket, tea and coffee making facilities, safe for valuables, desks / dressing tables, heaters and fans, fluffy white towels, heated towel rails, percale linen, his and her cotton bathrobes, hairdryers, clock-radios, hot water bottles, Charlotte Rhys toiletries, pool towels and chocolates.

A 4 bedroom cottage with open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge is also available on a self-catering basis for short or long stays. Enjoy a lazy afternoon barbeque next to the pool.

Wholesome, hearty breakfasts

Inri and her staff are very proud of the “AA Fabulous Food Award” they received in 2008 for their tasty breakfasts and beautiful fruit plates that are pieces of art in their own right.

A full breakfast served in the dining room or in your room. We start with a “the famous fruit plate” and fruit juice which is a big hit with all our guests. Our buffet offers a selection of cereals, yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats and freshly baked muffins, toast basket and preserves. End off with bacon, mushrooms and grilled tomato and your choice of eggs (fried, scrambled, poached, boiled, omelets or French toast).

Percolated coffee and a selection of teas are served with our breakfast. Mr. Delivery and Butler’s Pizza menu’s are available in your room should you wish to relax and order in. You are welcome to use the microwave oven in the main kitchen to warm TV dinners. Enjoy a variety of restaurants in the area that are walking distance from both houses.

Smokers can use outside patio’s where ashtrays have been placed.

Conferencing

We have a fully equipped Business Centre with wireless ADSL internet, email, fax. Photostat machine and telephone access. We cater for small conferences (up to 15 people) and small private functions.

Riversong Guest house, garden borders the Liesbeek River so take a stroll down and enjoy the tranquil sound of the river. Riversong Guest House is a short walk from Newlands Cricket and Rugby Grounds, Cavendish Square, Claremont CBD, Vineyard Hotel and Conference centre, Sports Science Institute, SA Breweries and many restaurants and pubs around Newlands Village.

10 minutes from University of Cape Town, Belmont Square, Kirstenbosch gardens, Kelvin Grove club, Great Westerford, Baxter theatre, leading hospitals and schools. 20-minute drive from the Airport, City Centre, Cape Town International Convention Centre, V & A Waterfront, golf courses, wine farms and golden beaches.

Additional services offered

At Riversong we offer transfers from and to the airport. We offer a shuttle service to restaurants, shopping centers, business and tourist destinations. (Please request shuttle price list when confirming your booking). We also book car hire.

We offer tours conducted on a private basis as opposed to scheduled tours by tour operators. We make suggestions based on our experience and the tour is constructed around your preferences.

Things like departure times, routes, shopping, Wine tasting, lunches etc. can be flexible as we go. Group tours are also available. We also have a fully equipped Business Centre with ADSL wireless internet, email, fax and telephone access.

Security

Riversong and ADT Security offer a “Meet and Greet Service” free of charge. If you are nervous about arriving in a new area, please call ADT Security on 086 12 12 300 fifteen minutes before reaching the Guest House to arrange for one of their armed response cars to meet you at the Guest House. If a car is not available they offer a telephonic escort service.
