Activities & Attractions


While hiking, spot Duiker darting across your path through the cool wooded kloofs or Klipspringer bounding up the slopes ahead of you while eagles wheel amongst the peaks. For the less energetic, fuel the soul by taking an early morning stroll in the veld or simply put your feet up and relax under the pepper tree or sit by the fire with a good book. Half an hours drive will take you to Meiringspoort where crystal mountain pools under a spectacular waterfall beckon.

For the adventurous, there are a variety of safari trips up the breathtaking Swartberg pass and down into Gamkaskloof, known as "Die Hel". Night drives amongst the foothills or biking along the high mountain trails provide unforgettable experiences.

There are a handful of restaurants in the village, each offering their own blend of simply country fare and delicious cuisine. The sunsets are magnificent and the Karoo night sky will show you more stars than you have ever seen.
