DUNEDIN MANOR HOUSE This spacious 4 bedroom retreat nestles amongst oak trees overlooking a large dam teeming with birdlife and is surrounded by majestic mountain ranges, charming vineyards and beautiful gardens. The newly renovated house sleeps up to 8 people and has a fully equipped large kitchen, dining room, 2.5 baths, TV & DVD player, fan and air conditioning, bar stocked with Mischa Estate wine, full size pool table, fine linen/towels, front stoop with sweeping views of the dam and vineyards, and a portable braai. MISCHA ESTATE MANOR HOUSE is a stunning lavish haven with the most spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding valleys. This self-catering house is furnished with beautiful antiques and offers a fully equipped kitchen, luxury loft bedroom with queen size sleigh bed, two down stairs bathrooms, a large living area with fire place and dining area which opens up onto the swimming pool area. TALANA HILL COTTAGE A rustic, country cottage over looking a beautiful dam with stunning views down the valley all the way to Table Mountain. The cottage comes complete with a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, living room, bathroom with shower, washer and dryer, portable braai, fine linens, patio with views and large bedroom with queen size bed, TV with DSTV & DVD, and air conditioning. TALANA HILL GARDEN ROOM Situated in a beautifully landscaped garden, this cozy room has a double bed and en suite bathroom. Third generation Mischa Estate was bought just after the Second World War by the winemaker, Andrew Barns’, grandfather. He chose the farm because of its complex soils and view of Table Mountain. After three generations of wine grape production, Andrew and his family decided to use their extensive viticulture knowledge to start producing Mischa wines. They created a winery with limited production of only the highest quality, unique wines. Now, 9 years later, they are recognized as a top 10 wine farm in South Africa. Their brands, “Mischa” and “Eventide” have received numerous gold or double-gold awards and top marks from Robert Parker Jr, Wine Enthusiast, Michelangelo, John Platter and more. Mischa Estate and Eventide Cellar wines are best known for their brilliant reds (Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernets), but as of late, they have also started producing amazing whites that aren’t to be missed. DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town International Airport Distance: 60km; Driving Time (Approx): 35 minutes Follow signs out of the airport to the N2 Highway North towards Stellenbosch. Follow for a few km’s and exit onto the R300 towards Belville. Take the N1 exit towards Paarl to the R44, Wellington exit (no. 47), turn left on the R44. From here, follow directions below. From Cape Town City Center Distance: 80km; Driving Time (Approx.): 45 minutes Take the N1 out of Cape Town. When the road splits stay to the left on the N1 towards Paarl. Follow the N1 for approx. 50km to exit no. 47. This exit will say R44, Wellington & Stellenbosch. Take a left. From the R44 Carry on with that road about 15 minutes (approx 20km) until you get a four way stop. Go straight through through the 4 way stop. At your next set of robots turn left. Once you take the left, you will see a golf course on your right hand side. Carry on straight until you go over a small bridge and see Cempave on your left. Right across from Cempave will be a right hand turn onto Oakdene Road. There is also a Mischa sign there. Take that right. Follow that until you hit the T-junction, then turn left and then take an immediate right to stay on Oakdene Road. You’ll drive on a paved road pass a few farms and then it’ll turn into a dirt road. Carry on for another 600m until you see a white wall and pillars with MISCHA on it. Turn in and you’ll see parking on the left. The office / reception will be just up the path. |
