Wave jumpers and colourful hobie cats can be seen dotted against the azure of the sea. Sailing, fishing and boating trips are other popular activities. DIRECTIONS: FROM CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT / GARDEN ROUTE Take the N2 Highway towards Cape Town for ± 10 km and then take the M5 off ramp to Milnerton (this is Koeberg Road). Travel along Koeberg Road for another ± 10 km, passing over the N1 Highway, and following the signs to Milnerton, and then Bloubergstrand. At the Caltex refinery (on the right hand side of Koeberg Road), turn left into the M14 (this is Blaauberg Road). Keep travelling down Blaauberg Road all the way to the beach. At this Round about, turn right into Marine Drive (still the M14). Travel ± 200 m along Marine Drive (Table Mountain should now be over your left shoulder)Then take your first right into Foam Street go straight until you reach T junction then turn left into Brander street and then take your next right into fathom Rd . Mandalay Beach Guest house is immediately on your right. FROM CAPE TOWN CBD / V&A WATERFRONT Take the N1 leading out of town towards Paarl/Stellenbosch. About 1 km out of town you must take the offramp marked R27 Paarden Eiland. This will take you onto Marine Drive which winds up northwards along the West Coast. Travel ± 10 km along the R27 until you reach Blaauberg Road, which is the M14. Turn left into Blaauberg Road and continue about 2 km all the way down to the beach. At the round about, turn right into Marine Drive (still the M14). Travel ± 200 m along Marine Drive (Table Mountain should now be over your left shoulder)Then take your first right into Foam Street go straight until you reach T junction then turn left into Brander street and then take your next right into fathom Rd . Mandalay Beach Guest house is immediately on your right. FROM SALDANHA / WEST COAST Travel southwards along the R27 (West Coast Highway) towards Cape Town. ± 20 km before Cape Town you turn right towards Melkbosstrand along the M14. This road winds through Melkbosstrand and becomes Marine Drive. Keep travelling down Marine Drive for ± 10 km until you drive past Bloubergstrand village on your right hand side. (There are only 2 roads leading into Bloubergstrand Village, and both are called Sir David Beard Drive). At the far end of Bloubergstrand village you will see a very large block of flats (20 storeys high Travel ± 2 km along Marine Drive Then turn left into Foam Street (Last turning before round about) go straight until you reach T junction then turn left into Brander street and then take your next right into fathom Rd . Mandalay Beach Guest house is immediately on your right. |
