Accommodation
Room 1 - Die Kliphuis
Kliphuis (translation Stonehouse), so named because of the stones which belonged to the original house of which was knocked down and in honor of Solly and Sarah Williams, parents to Benita. The stones were shaped to build the façade of the fireplace formed part of the old Kliphuis as well as part of the foundation of the house. This room displays a chair that belonged to Sarah’s mother and a round table handmade by Solly. This room is the flagship of the house.
Room 2 - The Silvermine
Silvermine offers visitors a very cozy room and at the same time creates an idyllic hideaway – ultra cool in summer without the need for any cooling system. In the winter the heating system brings marvellous decadence. It reminds us of the silver mine we can still find in Simonsberg Mountains – no silver left though yet in our mind, named appropriately. This is a very private room with its own entrance to the pool and garden.
Room 3 - Blue Gecko
With its magnificent view over the pool area as well as the Simonsberg Mountain majestically standing by as a silent sentinel this room with it bright and breezy colours pay homage to its immediate surroundings and influences. A stunning garden adds to the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. In the bathroom Listello’s with its mounted gecko’s anchor the idea of Blue Gecko.
Room 4 - Die Peerboom
Peerboom (translation Pear tree) is lovingly named in honor of Peter’s parents, Jan Cyster and Ester Cyster. Peter’s Father internalized an Afrikaans poem called – Die Peerboom (Author unknown) when he was in grade 3 at primary school. He could still recite it flawlessly and with the appropriate actions when well into his 80’s. This room displays a chair and bedside drawer that belonged to Mr Cyster.
