DESCRIPTION:
On the slopes of the Franschhoek Pass, admist sweeping tracts of fynbos lies the exclusive village of L'ermitage. Set within the secure grounds of the prestigious Fransche Hoek Estate, nestled between Chamonix and Haute Cabriere. Here you will find the stately five-star Chateau du Pré and 36 charming, private Villas all of which promise guests a warm welcome and a wonderful stay. Also within the village is the fine-dining Sixteen-88 restaurant and for picnics or home entertaining you’ll be spoilt for choice at L’ermitage’s own sumptuous delicatessen.
L’ermitage is a guest-focussed village paying tribute to the French Huguenots who settled in this valley some 300 years ago. A sense of old-fashioned community abounds in this aptly named sanctuary offering weary city-dwellers the tranquillity and relaxed atmosphere of a five-star hotel. Here residents stroll the cobbled streets, meeting neighbours and friends for coffee or a chat without the rush of deadlines or the press of time. And yet in the midst of this courteous and kindly village with its vibrant piazza and swimming pools are superior modern amenities and the unparalleled lifestyle you would expect in this the food and wine capital of South Africa.
