Situated on Route 62 between Worcester and Robertson and just 90 minutes from Cape Town, this historic establishment now offers luxury accommodation and up market conference and wedding facilities. With their unique approach to history, the Smit family carefully and patiently created an old village atmosphere by using the existing buildings from 1820 to establish a place where the central courtyard, water features, art and culture culminate in a truly magnificent dwelling. Respect was key when restoration took place and all existing building elements from the past. Old friends and well-known artist couple, Alexander and Anastasia Lochnikov, gave nine generations of the Rabie family new life in depicting their rich history in fresco paintings throughout the buildings. Buildings previously used as a brandy cellar, tractor store and equipment storage facility have been revamped into modern accommodation, wedding and conferencing facilities all overlooking the courtyard or with glimpses of a horizon where vines meet mountain in perfect harmony. AccommodationAll of the 17 luxury rooms are tastefully furnished with a writing desk, cotton linen, air-conditioning and Wi-Fi connection. BreakfastRates include an English breakfast - al fresco style - in our magnificent summer months. WeddingsOur weddings are hosted in the old wine cellar with red stained walls and the remains of open cement fermentation tanks as a constant reminder of the past. The venue provides seating for 135 people with dancing. The chapel with beautiful fresco paintings can accommodate 80 people. Our tranquil garden and lawn in front of the Manor House is the perfect setting for a romantic ceremony and for guest to enjoy pre dinner drinks before the reception. ConferencesLeipzig Conference facilities can accommodate a capacity of 120 delegates. It is divided into a large conference room and a smaller private lounge and patio, perfect for smaller executive meetings. All rooms are equipped with audio-visual equipment, DVD player, CD player and a television. Flipcharts, white boards and stationary is also supplied according to your needs. |

DIRECTIONS: from Cape Town N1 Take the N1 (north) towards Worcester Past Paarl on the N1 and drive through the Hugenote Tunnel Once you reached Worcester, drive past Shell Ultra City on your left and continue on the N1, past the first set of traffic lights Turn right into Roux Road at traffic lights 3 Drive past traffic lights 4 and 5 (Fire Brigade) on your right Drive past traffic light 6 (Church street) and turn left at traffic light 7 into Hoog Street (R60) Turn right into Robertson Road (R60) at traffic light 7 Continue past traffic light 8 (Traffic centre) on your right Continue for approximately 14 km till you find the Nuy Valley turn of at your left Take the Nuy valley turn off and travel for approximately 8 km tilll you Leipzig on your right. from Villiersdorp Take the R43 towards Worcester Turn right at the T - Juction by De Doorns wine cellar towards Overhex Turn right at the 4 way stop into the R60 – towards Robertson / Nuy valley Continue till you find the Nuy Valley turn of at your left Take the Nuy valley turn off and travel for approximately 8 km tilll you Leipzig on your right. from Robertson Take the R60 towards Worcester past Rooiberg cellar Turn left at the Nuy Valley turn off Take the Nuy valley turn off and travel for approximately 8 km tilll you Leipzig on your right. from De Doorns Take the N1 south towards Cape Town Take the De wet / Overhex turn off on your right (De Wet cellar on your left) Travel for approximately 15km till you find Leipzig County House on your left. |
