DESCRIPTION:
Ladismith Country House is situated 7km outside the town Ladisith in the Klein Karoo and nestles on the slopes of the Klein Swartberg mountains. Only three and a half hours from Cape Town, this privately owned and managed Country House offers the discerning traveller the perfect Klein Karoo experience. With 55 hectares of mountains and plains, Ladismith Country House is a nature lover's paradise offering a variety of birdlife, fynbos and succulents.
Guest House Accommodation
The Manor House consists of four individually and tastefully decorated suites that provide the warmth and relaxation that only the Klein Karoo can satisfy. Each suite has it's own entrance and offers a patio with direct access to the beautiful garden. The suites offer white cotton bed linen, mosquito netting for Karoo summer days, safes, coffee and tea making facilities, air conditioning, heaters and ceiling fans.
Ladismith Country House is the perfect getaway from the daily hustle and bustle and therefore we do not have any telephones or televisions in our rooms. A television with DSTV is available in our lounge. Local and overseas calls can be made from the office.
Guineafowl Suite:
Garden Suite with private patio, en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower, magnificent views of Towerkop Mountain and the Klein Swartberg Mountains.
Pheasant Suite:
Veranda Suite on outside patio; en-suite bathroom with shower; beautiful views of the surrounding Karoo koppies.
Hadeda Suite:
Garden Suite with private patio; en-suite bathroom with bath and shower; beautiful views of the surrounding Karoo koppies and garden.
Heron Suite:
Garden Suite with private patio; separate lounge area; en-suite bathroom with shower; magnificent views of the surrounding Karoo koppies and garden.
Self Catering Accommodation
Paddasong Cottage
Self catering accommodation is also offered in Paddasang Cottage, conveniently situated away from the Manor House. It is very secluded with unobtrusive views of the Klein Karoo Koppies and the farm dam housing a variety of bird- and frog species. “Paddasang” (with airconditioning) offers an open-plan kitchen with lounge, two bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and shower. A sleeper couch in the lounge can also accommodate a fifth/sixth person. Breakfast and dinner can be enjoyed at the Manor House if required.
Dining
Ladismith Country House offers a heart-warming breakfast in the perfect Karoo setting. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in our dinging room or on the patio overlooking the garden and Klein Karoo landscape with the welcoming sounds of Guineafowl, Hadeda, Partridge and Pheasants.
Evenings are characterised by delightful Candlelight dinners, using local and fresh produce, which are creatively prepared and beautifully served.
Activities & Sighseeing
During the day, enjoy a scenic walk on the farm before heading out to the famous Seweweekspoort with it's many poorts and passes. Other passes in the area includes Groenfontein-, Kruisriver-, Huisriver- and Swartberg Mountain passes. Visit the historical mission station town of Amalienstein and Zoar. Calitzdorp, the Port capital of South Africa, is a mere thirty minute drive; Oudtshoorn with it's famous ostrich farms and Cango caves only an hour's drive and George International airport only two hours away.
If you feel like exploring the town of Ladismith, there is plenty to offer. The town's friendly people will charm you. Visit Ladismith Cheese Factory with a selection of fine and delectable cheeses. Ladismith Wine Cellar offers the wine lover a great wine selection. For the Hiking enthusiast there is the famous Elandsberg mountain trail that takes you all the way to Stanley's light or Towersig mountain trail, which takes one to Ladismith's landmark, Towerkop. |

DIRECTIONS:
From Cape Town
Take the N1 highway towards Paarl / Worcester. Continue through the Huguenot Tunnel until you reach signs for Worcester. Take this third turn-off to Worcester on your right. Continue with this road until you reach a sign for Robertson going to your left. Take this left turn-off to Robertson and continue until you reach Robertson. Drive through Robertson’s main road and follow the signs to Ashton / Montague. Travel through the town of Ashton and continue with this road until you reach Montague. You are now on the famous Route 62. Drive straight through Montague towards Barrydale. Drive straight through Barrydale towards Ladismith keeping on the Route 62. Turn right at the first T-junction in Ladismith (next to the Route 62 Café). This road will take you out of Ladismith. Carry on with this road for approximately 10km until you reach the Ladismith Country House signs or Hoeko Valley signs next to the road. Turn left at these signs. You will now travel through the Hoeko Valley on a tar road. This road becomes a gravel road after 8km. Approximately 2km from the start of the gravel road, you will see Ladismith Country House signs on your left. Turn left at these signs and a warm Karoo welcome awaits you!
