DESCRIPTION:
Kleine Vallei Guest Farm is a working farm situated at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains on the borders of the Sandveld area and the Cederberg Mountains, hidden in a quite valley about 40 km from the nearest town. The farm offers a diverse habitat ranging from plains, magnificent valleys and mountains that almost touch the skies.
Accommodation
The farmhouse is self-catering, fully equipped with a kitchen that offers you a complete range of crockery, cutlery, a stove, fridge, microwave and separate scullery with ironing facilities. The house consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 rooms with both double beds and 2 rooms with each 2 single beds. Linen and bath towels are provided.
The main room is en-suite while the other rooms share a bathroom with separate toilet. A spacious dining and lounge area with an indoor fireplace is situated next to the kitchen and opens into the front garden. A television (SABC 1, 2, 3 and e-tv) is available. You are welcome to bring your own DSTV card. Barbeque facilities are available underneath a big roofed stoep - we provide the wood and grid.
A big garden surrounds the house. At the edge of the garden an orange orchard starts which lead you to a fenced field with springbuck and sometimes duiker. In season a haven unfolds for visitors as they are privileged to help themselves from the fruit out of the garden.
Guided horse riding at the farm is available on request.
Farm tours are available on request.
Attractions & Activities
The area offers abundant opportunities for hiking through pristine fynbos, leisure walks, mountain biking on farm trails, bird watching especially early in the morning and late in the afternoon and just an opportunity to experience farm life. During one of these adventures you’ll observe a water stream and vivid green trees with the perfect spots for a picnic. Nearby irrigation dams are available for swimming but one can get a bit muddy in the process. Please bring your own swimming towels.
In a radius of 80 km white sandy beaches of the West Coast unfold. The well known Cederberg Wilderness as well as the Namaqualand Flowers in season is in a reachable distance from here.
Come for a stay at Kleine Vallei and experience this area at its finest where you will find rest and peace with all the comforts of home just with the real feel of a farm - a child friendly haven to stay at. For some it might feel as an imaginative place to stay and yes it needn’t cost you your 4X4 (nearly from time to time) - an accessible but unusual valley.
Your getaway ticket only 2 hours drive from Cape Town - without any cell phone reception you are safely hidden away in the tranquility of nature. |
