Meticulously restored and beautifully decorated with exquisite antiques, it occupies a stunning location amidst vineyards overlooking Table Mountain, and enjoys spectacular sunsets. Conveniently located a 25 minute drive away from the buzzing Cape Town centre, the estate is quiet and serene. In addition to our guests, the farm is home to horses, cows, porcupines, hawks, herons, pelicans and countless other wildlife. Our resident German Pointers Cosmo and Max keep a watchful eye on the daily workings of the farm. Hawksmoor House is the perfect place to unwind and let the day slowly go by, lie by the pool with a good book and a glass of our own fabulous Hawksmoor wine. It also serves as a great base to explore the Winelands. Our friendly and cheerful staff stay discreetly in the background, providing you with the feeling that you have the entire place to yourself and allowing you to relax in absolute peace and quiet. You will never want to leave... ACCOMMODATIONThe main house contains 5 guest rooms, each with its own terrace; a grand dining room; a drawing room with fireplace, honesty bar and i-pod docking station; a small library of books and DVDs as well as internet access and a farmhouse kitchen with AGA stove and direct access to our herb garden. The grounds are laid out to include a large lawn, reflecting pond , lavender beds; vegetable, rose and herb gardens, gorgeous wine cellar with a huge fireplace, wine tasting room, and a swimming pool with a view of Table Mountain. A fence around the entire property provides privacy and security. Hawksmoor House offers a totally unspoilt, unpolished and authentic country home experience for those who need some well-deserved rest or would like to celebrate a special occasion. DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town International Airport: First take the N2 towards Somerset West, then take the R300 turn-off which joins the N1, direction Paarl. Take exit 39 (Stellenbosch / Klipheuwel) and follow the R304 direction Klipheuwel. Within 1km, you will go past the "Tygerberg Zoo" sign on your left and after another 500m, you will see a dirt road on your left with a small sign saying "Hawksmoor at Matjieskuil". Follow the gravel driveway until you reach the entrance gate. From Cape Town or Paarl: Take the N1 and take exit 39 (Stellenbosch/Klipheuwel). Follow the R304 direction Klipheuwel. Within 1 km, you will go past the "Tygerberg Zoo" sign on your left and after another 500m, you will see a dirt road on your left with a small sign saying "Hawksmoor at Matjieskuil". Follow the gravel driveway until you reach the entrance gate. From Stellenbosch: Follow the R304 in direction N1 / Klipheuwel and cross the N1.
