AccommodationOur 1-Bedroom Cottage comfortably sleeps 2 with a double sleeper couch in the lounge for that unexpected holiday guest / friend joining the tourists / or children (maximum 2). A budget holiday destination with so many options. Your own entrance, well lit, with quick and easy access to your cottage from the car (off street parking behind automated gates). Path to the cottage ground level with 2 easy low steps onto patio and front door. Lock up and go, the cottage is situated behind the owner's property, alarm panic buttons, safe and secure - 60 square metres in total. Keep warm inside with a romantic fireplace that creates a relaxed atmosphere (strangely enough, even if not used). The living room has an inviting high back settee and a sturdy armchair. Double front doors open to reveal a small private garden. Knotty Pine high beamed rafters make for an interesting ceiling again creating a relaxed and peaceful ambience. A TV with a DVD player will entertain or soothe one after a long day exploring famous tourist attractions. To wash away the long day and freshen up, the Cottage offers an en-suite spacious shower with towels provided. Senior Citizens will appreciate the foot pedestal in the shower to rest a weary leg for scrubbing. The cozy warm bedroom is fitted with European standard 100% percale cotton sheets and pillow cases for that luxurious holiday feeling. Before closing the bedroom or lounge curtains, catch a glimpse of Silvermine Nature Reserve and try and spot Peers Cave, dare to wonder! Should the mood grab you, take a dip in the sparkling pool or simply sit on the garden furniture and watch the stars come out - Dazzling due to our perfect spot in the Valley. Listen for birds and bats in our "twilight twitter" tree. DiningFor the hungry, the kitchen is fully equipped, or you can visit any nearby restaurant (plentiful and within 5-10 minute drive). Galleon Nook has their own caterer, so for a set price you are able to choose from a set menu and have a meal delivered to your doorstep. Ask Kim for details about Niru's Kitchen. Whether married, single, or a senior citizen - you will be spoilt for food choices in our area, from budget to the very expensive. LocationTravel 5 minutes to our shopping mall (Longbeach) which has cinemas, shops, banks, McDonald's, chemist and travel agent amenities all under one roof. Longbeach Medical Centre is located behind the mall, and we would refer you to any of the competent GP's and specialists. FacilitiesAirport transfers can be arranged, we have our own hand picked service provider. Car hire is best booked at the airport when landing (several car rental agents are on site). Broadband Internet is available in Kim's office. Galleon Nook is linked to an emergency Paramedic response service, and False Bay Hospital is 5 minutes drive away. Attractions and ActivitiesIn the morning, head 4km eastwards for a stroll on Fish Hoek beach and Jagers Walk. Coffee, breakfast, beach swim or just watching the locals is all part of the experience. During Whale Watching season (August to November) you will often see whales breaching in the Bay, an awesome sight! Jagers Walk (concreted and along the side of the mountain and beach) is very popular - take your camera as the picturesque mountain homes are something to see, ss are spectacular sunrise and sunset scenes in the area. 4km westwards will take you to Noordhoek, famous for horse riding on Longbeach, as well as the start to Chapman's Peak Drive, renowned as one of the most breathtaking drives in the world! This leads into another tourist suburb and hub, namely Hout Bay with its famous fish and chip take-away, seal island excursions, boat rentals, scuba diving operators as well as the popular flea market every Sunday. Galleon Nook is within travelling distance to all famous and typically visited destinations in Cape Town i.e. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (20 min), Robben Island (30 min to boat launch jetty), Cape Point (25 min), Table Mountain (25 min), V&A Waterfront (25 min), Wine Routes (closest 5min the furtherest is 1hour), Chapman's Peak Drive (5 min), and Boulders Penguin Colony (15 min). You will need 2-3 weeks holiday time to see all the tourist attractions our area and Cape Town has to offer! |

DIRECTIONS: FROM CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Take the N2 Highway going towards Cape Town as you leave the Airport; when approaching the foot of Table mountain, take the M3 left towards Muizenberg / Kirstenbosch Gardens, travel until the end of this highway- past The University of Cape Town and famous Bishop's Court. You will pass Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on your right, continue to travel on the highway passed Wynberg, Constantia, Ladies Mile, Tokai (also known as the Blue Route Highway). Keep traveling toward the mountain until you reach a T-junction at the foot of the mountain (end of the highway) and turn right towards Cape Point and Simonstown. (signposted). Take the second left traffic light into Ou Kaapse Weg and enjoy a wonderful scenic drive over the mountain pass (10 minutes), through the Silvermine Mountain Reserve and Table Mountain National Park district. Continue to the bottom of the mountain, turn left at the first traffic lights (McDonalds and Shopping Mall's are all on your right hand side). At the stop street turn right and 1st left into Galleon Crescent, we are no. 7 Galleon Crescent. |
