At Cape Country Living Guesthouse we are proud to give the visitor a choice of accommodation - either self-catering or bed and breakfast. There are 4 units to choose from. The Guesthouse is approximately 45 minutes away from Cape Town International Airport, and 20 minutes drive from Gordon's Bay.

On this wine estate you can experience silence, and stand in awe of nature. We would like to share our tranquil surroundings with you - the ambience of the property is that of unlimited peace and quiet. Together with our staff, we will make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Accommodation


There are 4 self-catering apartments available. All the units are fully equipped self-catering units, are beautifully decorated and serviced daily. All units overlook the Helderberg Mountains. Each unit has a braai facility as well as a television with satellite connection.

Garden view unit (catering for 2 to 4 people):
It has 2 bed rooms, each with it's own en-suite room. It has a fully equipped kitchen and sitting room. It has a spa as part of the accommodation.

Studio (catering for 2 people):
It has one big room and one en-suite. It has a small fully equipped kitchen and faces the swimming pool.

Mountain view (2 people and a child):
Catering for 2 to 3 people, It has a 1 bed room with a romantic face-place in the room, it has it's own en-suite room. It has a fully equipped kitchen and sitting room.

Sea view unit (catering for 2 to 6 people):
2 bed rooms with one big bathroom (with bath and shower). A fully equipped kitchen and separate sitting room, spacious balcony which overlooks False Bay.

Breakfast


A self-catering breakfast basket is available daily upon request. We offer a traditional "English breakfast" and a "Health Breakfast".

Additional Services


Washing and ironing is also done on request at an extra fee. For business people we have the personal computer, fax machine and Internet-connection facilities to use.

Conferences


Cape Country Living is the ideal place to have time away from the office with your colleagues. The Guesthouse can accommodation 15 people and the conference facility is ideal for up to 20 delegates. Conference equipment, overhead projector, screen etc. can be supplied. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and tea, coffee and snacks can be arranged. The whole venue can be booked for the function.

Weddings


The venue is also ideal for small weddings. The Guesthouse is equipped with a beautiful kitchen, and dining room and pool area where a small wedding party is easily accommodated.

Activities & Attractions


Guests are welcome to participate in hiking, cycling, horse riding and game drives, and if they would prefer to go golfing, there are various golf courses 20 minutes drive away. (Erinvale, Strand, Somerset west, and a little further away, the Stellenbosch golf course).

Activities available on the estate:
• Swimming pool at the guest house.
• Swimming and canoeing on farm dam - you may walk through the vineyard straight to the dam.
• Hiking trails into the mountains - follow the signs.
• Trout fishing in farm dam.
• Cycling - for those who wish to bring their bicycles along with them.
• Bird watching.
• Horse riding - by arrangement with the stables down the road.
• Cruises on a pleasure boat - can be arranged on request.
• Quad bikes - can be arranged on request.
• Wine tasting - can be arranged on request.

DIRECTIONS:

From the N1
Drive along the N1, take the R44 off-ramp towards Klupmuts. Carry straight on to Stellenbosch. Proceed with the same road through Stellenbosch. Remain on R44 until you reach the four way robot of Somerset West Main road. The Lord Charles Hotel is on your right hand side. Turn left into the main road leading towards Somerset West. Continued below.

From the N2
Drive along the N2, take the Strand / Somerset West off-ramp leading to the R44. Turn right at the bridge and continue to the second traffic intersection (Lord Charles Hotel), turn right into the Somerset West Main Road. Continue for 4,4 km until you reach the Vergelegen Medi-Clinic on your left, turn left at the robot on the Sir Lowry's Pass Village Road, and continue for 6,6 km (approx. 10 minutes' drive out of Somerset West). Upon reaching Sir Lowry's Pass Village, turn off at the paved road on the left - opposite the Post Office (Knorhoek / Wedderwill). Continue along this road for approx. 1,2 km, then turn to your left (Wedderwill sign) and continue for 300 m across the bridge until you reach the Wedderwill gate. Thereafter, follow the paved road for 1,8 km uphill until you reach the T-junction, turn left onto a dirt road for 300 m, turn to your right at the Westridge / ridge sign. Cape Country Living Guesthouse will be the first face-brick house with a slate roof.
