Ascot Gardens central location makes it ideal for experiencing everything that Cape Town has to offer. The Airport, V &A Waterfront, City Centre and Table Mountain are 25 minutes drive away and the Constantia Winelands is only 5 minutes away . Within walking distance is a train station, public bus stop, shopping centre and 6 excellent local restaurant, churches and tennis and bowls clubs. Ascot Gardens consists of 4 houses tastefully altered and renovated to provide self-catering cottages / garden suites / apartments of various size, price and furnishings. They are all situated in a beautiful garden which has appeared on BBC TVs Gardeners World. The garden has magnificent plants, trees and shrubs, stunning water features and has colour all year round and is home to a variety of birds, squirrels, fish and frogs. The 10 self-catering 1-bedroomed cottages / garden suites and apartments, one 2-bedroomed suite, and one 3-bedroomed house are ideal for holidays, business, wedding guests, sport groups, family reunions and visiting friends or relatives. AccommodationEvery suite has its own DSTV Satellite television and music centre, fans, heaters, safes and also their own private entrance and patio with table and chairs and BBQ facilities. Suites overlook the beautiful garden which is in colour throughout the year and these gardens have often been opened for public viewing to raise funds for charity. The suites can be booked individually or combined for larger families if required. We offer free 24/7 broadband Internet (including Skype and MSN / Windows Light Messenger and wireless connection), library, tourist brochure information, secure off street parking, a fenced swimming pool, laundry and private entrances and patios with table and chairs and individual BBQ facilities. FacilitiesAll apartments are fully furnished with either bath or shower en-suite and equipped with stove or hot plate, microwave, fridge, pots, kettle, toaster, pans, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils, cutlery, kitchen towels, bedding, bath towels (not swimming towels), iron and ironing board. The apartments have ceiling fans and infrared heaters in all bedrooms and lounges. The units are not serviced daily but bath towels are replaced every 3/4 days and for long stays the units are serviced and the bed linen changed every 7 days. We supply dish clothes, dish washing liquid, toilet rolls and garbage bags. There are single beds in all bedrooms except for the Duke, Royal, African Suites and main bedroom of House which all have queen beds and the Duchess which has a double bed. The Constantia Wine Route, Constantia Village, Blue Route Shopping Centre and Constantiaberg Hospital are 5 minutes drive away. Kirstenbosch Gardens, Muizenberg Beach, Cavendish Square, Newlands cricket and rugby stadiums, Westlake, Steenberg and Royal Cape Golf Clubs, are 15 minutes drive away. DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town Airport or from Cape Town/Waterfront on the M3 • Take the Cape Town exit over the bridge onto the N2 • Travel towards Table Mountain on the N2 to Cape Town for approximately 11km • Go Past the M5 Muizenberg / Mowbray turnoff. Do NOT take this turnoff but move over to the left lane. Take the next left turnoff which says M3 Mizenberg. • NB: The M3 is the main connecting road from the Waterfront and Cape Town City centre to Bergvliet and the Southern Suburbs. • Continue on the M3 (approx 10km) and take the Ladies Mile M39 Exit off ramp. • Turn right at first traffic lights and continue down Ladies Mile Road. • At the traffic circle, take the First Exit Left. • A school will now be on your right hand side and further down on your left will be a shopping centre. Follow the road around the school. The road you are on now is Heerengracht Avenue. • Turn left at the stop street, this is Bergvliet Road. • Turn 1st right into Jeffcoat Avenue and continue along Jeffcoast Avenue for approximately 400 metres. - Ascot Lodge (Jack, Queen and King Suites) is on the left hand side at 17 Jeffcoat Avenue (ring office bell at the gate). - For Ascot Villa (African, Fountain and Mountain Suites) turn Left at next corner into Hiddingh Road. First house on your left is Ascot Villa, 30 Hiddingh Road (ring office bell). - Ascot Mews (Duchess, Royal and Duke Suites) is second house on left, 28 Hiddingh Road (ring office bell) - For Ascot House continue along Hiddingh and turn first left into Eksteen Avenue, and the second house from corner on the left is 6 Eksteen Avenue (ring office bell). The office, home of your hosts, Lesley and Barry, is at No.8 Eksteen Avenue on the corner OF Hiddingh Road. |
