Spend a few days enjoying the farmous Route 62 hospitality on a 150ha farm with the magnificent views of the Riviersonderend and Langeberg mountains unfolding as far as you can see. At night the sky is filled with millions of stars, without any air or light pollution. There are three dams on the farm for enjoyment by all. Guests are encouraged to walk the farm and enjoy pleasures of the veld and fynbos, abundant birdlife, small wild animals, and off course the calm and silent setting. AccommodationAgterkliphoogte Guest Farm offers four self catering cottages: 3 x 2-Bedroomed Cottages 1 x 1-Bedroomed Cottage The 2-Bedroomed Cottages: These Victorian style guest cottages in years gone by were originally farm workers houses which have now been revamped and updated with French doors leading off each bedroom onto a large verandah. Inside the cottages you will find a huge indoor fireplace perfect for cold winters and on the verandah is another fireplace from where one may enjoy the picture perfect countryside. Each cottage comprises of 2 large bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds. Each cottage sleeps four persons and is ideal for a family. The 1-Bedroomed Cottage: The smaller cottage is a new addition. In the same style, it consists of 1 bedroom with double bed, fully equipped kitchenette, inside fireplace, lounge and a large double shower area. FacilitiesAll of the cottages overlook the dam over the rim-flow pool and pretty gardens and lawn are all makings for a special getaway. You will not find alarm clocks, telephones, TV’s or radios here, but other creature comforts such as fridge, microwave, toasters, electric frying pan, Mini grill-oven with 2 hotplates and hot showers could all help to make rural life a little easier. Comfortable beds with warm winter or cool summer linen are provided. Ample braaiwood, firelighters, matches and grids are also included. ActivitiesMountain bikers will enjoy a well marked nature route perfect for beginners or the more adventurous! Nearby is the well known Zevenfontein 4x4 or 4x2 tracks which normally bring about great excitement to all the wild ones. On the farm you will find 3 dams for fishing on a catch and release basis. An excellent, well priced selection of wine from our cellar can be ordered ahead of time. Kindly arrange with Lisa, who will ensure that your wine is placed in your cottage. DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town Follow the N1 to Worcester, turn off and take the road to Robertson. In Robertson take a right turn off to McGregor. Once over the bridge veer right to Le Chasseur. After 24km turn left onto a gravel road and after exactly 4.3km turn left into the farm gate. The N2 provides for a scenic drive. Please enquire on details, as it involves an off the beaten track dirt road suitable for high range vehicles. |
