It is also the ideal base for families and wine enthusiasts to explore the Cape Peninsula and Cape Winelands. Aan-den-Weg is situated in the heart of the Stellenbosch Wine Route in the quiet Stellenbosch Kloof Valley and is only 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport - a perfect place to start or end your vacation. Husband Nicky is the 4th generation Joubert farming this farm and their house was built by his grandfather in 1930. 'Aan-den-Weg' means 'At the Road' (historic wagon road to Cape Town). Nicky enjoys tasting their own wine, Usana, with the guests. ACCOMMODATIONThe guesthouse is personally managed by Petra. With her passion for people and attention to detail, she goes out of her way to make guests feel most welcome and comfortable. Petra enjoys sharing their beautiful home and surroundings with people from all over the world. At Aan-den-Weg people arrive as guests and leave as friends. Room 1 (The Cream Rose Room) This spacious elegant honeymoon (double) room, decorated with cream roses has beautiful views, queen bed, and en-suite bathroom with shower (no bath). The room is cool in summer and has under floor heating for the colder months. Rooms 2 and 3 (The Pink Rose Room) This family unit is decorated with pink roses and could also be used as double rooms. Room 2 has twin beds and Room 3 has a double bed. En-suite full bathroom (with bath and shower). Both rooms have beautiful views and are cool in summer. Room 3 has colour TV with 9 satellite channels. Room 4 (The Red Rose Room) Decorated with romantic red roses the private self-catering apartment with queen bed has good views and personal barbecue facilities on the ground floor. En-suite full bathroom (bath/shower) and en-suite equiped kitchen. Cool room in summer. Colour TV with 9 satellite channels. All rooms have private entrances, bar fridge, tea/coffee facilities, barbecue/braai facilities. All rooms are non-smoking rooms. Linen, bath towels and swimming towels provided. Fresh flowers / roses in all rooms. Hair dryer available on request. Maximum 8 adults can be comfortably accommodated. DININGHearty full farm (English/Continental) breakfasts in buffet style are served on the patio, outside the rooms. ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIESThings to do with Aan-den-Weg as your base: Go for a run/walk/cycle in this quiet valley. Stroll between 85,000 rose shrubs and 64 ha vineyards. Let your host take you on a tour through the rose shed. Swim or relax at the large swimming pool on site. Taste our wine,or taste wine at over 100 wineries, some in walking distance. Eat at top class restaurants, some only 3 minutes away. Visit the historical town of Stellenbosch. (8 minutes) Visit Spier with restaurants, cheetahs and other tourist attractions.(3 minutes) Visit Hermanus (whale watching) (90 minutes) Visit Franschhoek town & Pass (35 minutes). DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town International Airport: Take the N2 to Somerset West/George. From the N2, take the Baden Powell turn off to Stellenbosch (R310). Pass Spier, turn left into Vlottenburg Road (c/o Stellenbosch Hills Cellar). Continue until the Stop (T junction), turn right towards Stellenbosch. Turn immediately left into Stellenbosch Kloof Road (c/o small farm cafe). From there 3 km, pass Overgaauw Wine Estate, pass By-den-Weg, pass Bonfoi Wine Estate. Next farm is Aan-den-Weg and the B&B is on your right side. Welcome! From the N1: From the N1, take the R304 to Stellenbosch. Continue pass Kayamandi township. Turn right into R44. Pass Van der Stel Cricket Field on left side. Turn right into R310 towards Kuilsriver. Pass Stellenbosch Railway Station on right. Pass Distell on left side. Do not take the R310 to airport/Spier, but continue on M12 pass Asara and Neethlingshof wine estates. Turn right into Stellenbosch Kloof Road (c/o small farm cafe). From there 3 km, pass Overgaauw Wine Estate, pass By-den-Weg, pass Bonfoi Wine Estate. Next farm is Aan-den-Weg and the B&B is on your right side. Welcome! From George: Take the N2 to Cape Town. From the N2, take the R44 to Stellenbosch. Pass Stellenbosch golf course, pass schools on right side, turn left into Dorp Street. Turn left at T junction into R310 towards Kuilsriver. Pass Distell.
