About The Vaal Lookout
Like a majestic ocean liner, The Vaal Lookout guest lodge bestrides the shoreline of the pristine Vaal Dam, in the water sports resort of Deneysville, in the Free State, just an hourís drive from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Established in the late 1930ís, when the Vaal Dam was built to serve the water needs of Johannesburg, the village is a mecca for the serious yachtsman, for water-skiers, jet skiers, canoeists, fishermen, bird watchers and astronomers.
The Vaal Lookout is designed to serve the needs of tourists, the corporate sector, water sports enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful weekend retreat. It also makes a delightful base for visiting members of the horse racing fraternity, with the Vaal Racecourse being only 15 minutes away.
Guest accommodation at The Vaal Lookout comprises four upstairs double suites, each with a sumptuous bathroom en suite and one downstairs suite with shower and kitchenette. Two of the upstairs bedrooms provide family accommodation, for up to six persons.
Providing all the extra touches which distinguish the best guest houses of the world, The Vaal Lookout has a library and TV lounge, with the full range of DSTV channels, on the upper level. Here guests can relax in club chair comfort, enjoying a magnificent view of the sparkling waters of the dam.
