Set just outside the picturesque village of White River in Mpumalanga, South Africa, you will be treated to hospitality that will make you feel right at home. Luxuriously furnished accommodation with a homely atmosphere enhanced by attention to detail will make you want to come back as soon as possible. Situated on a private estate of 1.3 hectares, Hooggelegen Estate offers magnificent views over the international airport and mountains. Take a walk through the macadamia and pecan nut orchard, or simply laze around the rock art pool. Enjoy the African night sky around a fire at the boma, or watch a DVD in the comfort of the lounge. Enjoy fruits in season from the mango, avocado, guava, pecan nut, macadamia, pear, and mulberry or litchi trees.

The Estate has a full time house keeper and gardener, Gertrude and Macedo, who are available for those special requests that will make your stay more comfortable. The office personnel are available during office hours to assist with any fax, e-mail or photo copy requests.

For smaller groups the house has a guest cottage with a separate entrance from the garage, offering one bedroom, one bathroom and a double sleeper couch in the lounge.

Facilities for Children


Hooggelegen Estate is a child’s paradise, and special attention is given to make our little guests comfortable. Toys, balls and a scooter can be provided, and Macedo can also provide supervision at the swimming pool or trampoline. With more than enough space for games like hide and seek, all within a secure estate, children are bound to give parents a well deserved break.

Pet Friendly


Hooggelegen Estate is also pet friendly. From Poodles to Great Dane’s, they’re all welcome. Our only requirements are that only friendly pets are allowed, as the Estate personnel require free access to the premises. Furthermore, no dogs are allowed inside the house. Sheltered accommodation is also available for pets.

Security


As we highly value the safety of our guests, security is of a high standard. The Estate is fully fenced with electrical fencing, as well as an eight foot wall on the road front. The Estate also has an alarm, and remote panic buttons, linked to armed response, are provided. The Estate further offers a remote controlled electric gate, as well as remote controlled electric garage doors, leading into the 3 car garage offering internal access into the house.
