Tucked away, in the village of Sedgefield, are "The Other Corner" and "The Kingfisher Corner". These beach houses are the closest place to heaven on earth. Self catering in paradise. The property is a sliver of land on the lagoon side of Kingfisher Drive with the short sides on the road and on the lagoon. It slopes steeply away from the road to the water. We are lucky to have access from a tiny road at right angles to Kingfisher Drive called Kanarie Laan. Thus all cars can be driven off the main road and when available, garaging can be provided. It is protected from the prevailing south easterly wind. ACCOMMODATIONThere are three houses on the site in two blocks. The Kingfisher Corner: The Kingfisher Corner is a self catering, serviced, cottage which sleeps 4 adults. The cottage is wheelchair accessible and a child under 6 can be accommodated additionally. Facilities include 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room with TV, a fully equipped open plan kitchen and dining room, as well as a balcony that has a great open view of lagoon, mountains and sea. The property is on the lagoon with direct access to the water and a 5 minute walk from the main bathing beach. All linen, towels, Weber braai, ADSL wireless internet connection, etc is provided. This is let out on a daily basis. Servicing is provided, unless occupiers prefer not. The Other Corner: The Other Corner is the two original houses one above the other. Only the one unit is let, and contains two and a half bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite) and a large living room / dining / kitchen. The balcony has an unbelievable view, quite the best in Sedgefield and perhaps the garden route too. Many breakfasts will be enjoyed here, and evening get-togethers. The stove is gas, but fridge, lights, hot water and are electric. There is a good Jetmaster fireplace as well, lovely in winter. No servicing is provided. The house is dry construction and was built 30 years ago. This house is cosy even in the winter with striking views due west over the estuary. The beauty of this set-up is that if there are more people to be accommodated in The Kingfisher Corner than the four allowed, they can use The Other Corner. The whole set-up is planned for privacy, even though the units are close together. Boating and fishing, as well as great open water swimming are a must. Birdwatching can be enjoyed from the balconies, or the near-by bird-hides, especially good for water birds and waders. ACCREDITATIONS
