Location

Tamboerskloof is a wonderful place from which to enjoy the splendor of Cape Town. Tamboerskloof is characterized by attractive rows of semi-detached Victorian houses that line the wide streets. In recent times many of the houses have been renovated and made beautiful but there remains a delightful neighbourliness in Tamboerskloof.

It is definitely one of the friendliest precincts in the city. The suburb is popular with young families and professionals as it is close to the fashionable restaurants, lunch delis and coffee shops of Kloof Street. Adjoining Kloof Street is Long Street which has become a center of youth culture and nightlife.

Attractions and Activities

Camps Bay beach is a quick 10 minute drive over Kloof Nek and is one of the most popular beaches in Cape Town. There are numerous upmarket restaurants and boutique shops that cater to beachgoers. Driving further along the coast one reaches Llandudno, a large and very attractive beach with a decent surfing wave. Just past Llandudno is Hout Bay with its nostalgic old fishing harbour.

Cape Town’s CBD is five minutes drive from Swallow's Nes which makes it perfect location for people doing business in town yet wanting some tranquility at the end of the working day. The V&A Waterfront is also close by and offers a whole array of shopping and entertainment.

Many opportunities for exploring the city begin at the Waterfront, for example: the Robben Island tour, tours of the Cape Winelands, champagne yacht cruises of the city’s beaches, bus tours of the city, helicopter rides and much more.

The apartment is also within an easy commute of the University of Cape Town (which is a 20 minute drive along the freeway). For visiting students or teaching staff, therefore, the apartment is an attractive place to be based during your stay. This is also true for visiting staff of Groote Schuur Hospital which is about a 15 minute drive along the freeway.
