Sutherland Guest House offers you a very warm and friendly welcome to the town of Sutherland in the Upper Karoo.

Accommodation

The guest house offers accommodation on either a B&B or self catering basis. The entire house can also be booked out on a self catering option.

The establishment has four rooms (including the self catering unit) each with their own bathroom. There is one en-suite double room with a bath and shower, a double room with a separate bathroom, and the self catering apartment which has one room with a double bed and a single bed in the lounge.

The apartment is fully equipped for self catering with a microwave, fridge and two plate stove. There is also a lounge with a TV and the lounge has a fireplace for cold winter nights!

There is a lovely braai area which is partly enclosed to give protection from the wind. Towels and soap are provided as are coffee, tea, milk and sugar. Rooms are equipped with heaters and electric blankets.

Parking for three vehicles is provided under a car port.

Sutherland

The Karoo town of Sutherland is well-known the SALT observatory which is located only 15 km from town. Day and night tours are also available at the observatory.

Other places worth a visit in Sutherland are the museum, the birthplace of the Afrikaans writers and poets, NP van Wyk-Louw and his brother, WEG Louw and the Dutch Reform Church, with its beautiful organ and history of the Anglo Boer War.
