The 4 Star Shumba Valley Lodge and Conference Centre, close to Lanseria Airport, in the Gauteng Province, offers the out of town, country, conference and leisure experience amidst 50 acres of grounds, with African ambiance, unpretentious warmth and genuine hospitality and is the ideal country conference venue for that 'not too far out of town' accessibility, but is far enough out of the city to feel that one is in the country.

Situated between Randburg and Pretoria with Lanseria Airport a mere five minutes drive away. Airport shuttles can be arranged on request. The local airline, Kulula flies into Lanseria daily from Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and from landing to getting to Shumba Valley Lodge is extremely quick!

Accommodation

The hotel boasts 70 bedrooms, including two suites, a mixture of thatched roofed rondavels and chalets, located within a tranquil setting. Each suite has its own private swimming pool where one can relax in privacy.

The bed types are either a room with a King sized bed or a room with two double beds - the twin bedded room type is ideal for conference delegates who have to share, as each person will have their own bed and/or families on Leisure stays, as parents can share one of the double beds and children sharing with their parents, under the age of 18 years, stay for free.

All of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, telephones, remote controlled televisions with selected DSTV channels, air conditioning/heaters, fans, and in room safes.

Dining

The hotel restaurant encompasses an outside terrace where guests can decide whether to sit inside or outside for a meal. Lunch and dinner are served buffet style with an A La Carte option for individual guests. The lounge bar also has outside seating areas and leads onto the terrace.

Each and every Sunday a spit braai buffet lunch is available to guests and the public, including entertainment - bookings are advisable for this.

Conferences

There are four conference rooms, able to seat from 10-80 delegates maximum, schoolroom style, offering standard conference equipment. Two of the conference rooms have thatched roofs and the other two are tiled roofs but all four off excellent air conditioning. For conference groups, a boma braai dinner can be an option.

Open grounds lend themselves for teambuilding opportunities. Shumba Valley Lodge will put you in contact with a reputable team building company for this purpose.

Facilities

Facilities at the hotel include an outdoor swimming pool, fully equipped gym, and a volley ball court.

Shumba Valley Lodge is based in the Cradle of Humankind and is close to many tourist attractions, i.e. Rhino and Lion Park, Lion Park, Maropeng, Lesedi Cultural Village etc.
