Durban North is an upmarket suburb, where you will find yourself within easy reach of all the city’s modern tourist facilities. Palm Cottage is situated in a beautiful tropical garden with abundant bird life. The property has ample safe undercover garaging and is very secure.

Self Catering Accommodation

There are two very comfortable bedrooms which can sleep four people. The main bedroom can either sleep two people in separate single beds, or a couple in a king size bed. There are ample built-in cupboards in both rooms.

The second bedroom has two separate single beds. We provide all linen. The modern bathroom has a sheer glass walk-in shower, toilet and basin.

The open plan living area is made up of a lounge and dining room and we offer a full DStv Bouquet. The kitchen is fully fitted, offering a stove: 4 plate hob/oven, fridge, microwave coffee machine and toaster, and all the requirements needed to make for easy use and convenience. All the rooms have ceiling fans.

There is a swimming pool for the use of the guests and a private barbeque area.

The cottage is fully serviced from Monday to Friday and we offer a laundry service at a nominal rate. The cottage is not serviced on Public holidays or weekends, unless by prior arrangement for which there will be an additional charge per day.

Activities and Attractions

We have a beautiful beach within walking distance of our home, as well as a professional golf course, Beachwood. The beach is not a swimming beach, nevertheless, very good for fishing and just relaxing. The Umgeni River Nature Trail and Umgeni River Bird Park are within eight kilometers drive.

Umhlanga Rocks, which is to the north of our location, is only a 10 minute drive on the M4 and the central beaches in Durban itself are also a 10 minute drive on the M4 to the South. uShaka Marine World is an 11 kilometre drive. The Natal Sharks Board Tourism Centre is within 10 kilometre drive.

Inland, an 80 kilometre drive; you can explore the Midlands Meander, well worth a day’s exploration. It offers a range of restaurants, and many quaint arts and craft shops.

We are within 15 minutes’ drive of King Shaka International Airport and five minutes’ drive from Virginia Commercial Airport.

We are very conveniently situated within walking distance of a range of restaurants, well known take-away franchises, pubs grocery stores, i.e. Checkers, Spar, and Woolworths. Hypermarket by the Sea is a five minute drive away. We also have banks and pharmacies that are within walking distance. There are also several small boutiques, gift shops etc. on our doorstep.

Gateway, which is the biggest undercover shopping centre in KwaZulu Natal is only 10 minutes away and here you will also find numerous restaurants as well as a large cinema complex. The Barnyard stage theatre is also at Gateway providing excellent live entertainment. There are two casinos, Sibiya to the North, and Sun Coast Casino to the South, both within a 10 minute drive from Palm Cottage.

We are 10 kilometres away from the soccer, rugby and athletic stadiums. We are also the Kings Park Swimming Stadium as well as the Kings Park cricket stadium.

For business people visiting Durban we are 10 minutes from the International Conference Centre.

We are 10 kilometes from Umhlanga Rocks Hospital and about five kilometers from Ethekweni Heart Hospital.
