Part caravan park, part designer farm lodge – this little hotel is certain to please if you are looking for a wholesome spot to unwind. Set on the pine-whispering slopes of a beautiful corner of the Elgin Valley, Old Mac Daddy offers open spaces, mountain paths, a lakeside beach and plenty of outdoor activities for the whole family.

Old Mac Daddy offers trailer units with artist-themed bedrooms and uber-contemporary living spaces as well as comfortable glamping style tented options and 2 self-catering units for larger extended families or groups of friends.

Dining

The Barn Restaurant is where you will be enjoying plenty of wholesome and delicious food during your stay. Our kitchen vision centers around fare that’s fresh, free range and organic (where possible), catering for the whole family including vegans and children. The restaurant is open daily from 8AM to 10PM and day visitors are welcome too.

Feast on the restaurant’s famous wood-fired pizzas or choose from a selection of freshly prepared salads & wraps. If that doesn’t entice, go for one of the renowned burgers or yummy main meal options. There’s more than enough to choose from.

The Barn is fully licensed and boasts a stocked bar, including the famous wines and ciders from the Elgin region.
Our seasonal cocktail menu will also be a winner so you can shake off the city and really unwind amongst the sweeping Elgin Valley views.

Daddy's Villa is a 3-bedroom villa that can accommodate up to 6 guests. The main bedroom features a king-size bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed while the third bedroom has twin beds. These 2 rooms share a bathroom. A private outdoor claw bath in the fynbos garden is also available for guests to use. The villa has a compact kitchen that is equipped with a fridge, a convection oven, a stovetop, a kettle, and a toaster. The School House, previously used as a school, has been transformed into a luxury house that can accommodate a family or small corporate groups of 6 people. The house comprises 3 bedrooms, that share the use of bathrooms fitted with showers and baths. One of the bedrooms contains a double bed, and the other 2 bedrooms are furnished with twin beds in each of the other 2 bedrooms. The house has an open-plan kitchen, a living area with a fireplace, and opens onto a stoep with views of the surroundings and braai facilities.
