This cosy thatched self catering accommodation (The Cottage sleeps four and The Lodge a total of 10 distributed between the four suites) is set in spacious gardens overlooking the historic town of Swellendam against the backdrop of the majestic Langeberg Mountain Range.

ACCOMMODATION


The Cottage
The cottage is completely self contained having a fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, two plate stove and fridge, inclusive of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. The lounge / dining room has a fireplace, cane furniture, and TV. The main bedroom, with bay windows and mountain view, has a double bed. There are two single beds in the loft. The bathroom has a bath / shower, basin and toilet. All linen and towels are supplied.

The veranda overlooks our large wild / indigenous garden with a variety of birds, leafy Swellendam and the Langeberg Mountains. Alongside the cottage is safe parking under a covered, lit carport. An outdoor barbeque facility with table and benches is available. This is set up beneath a gazebo, which is next to the water feature and fish pond.

The cottage is suitable for a couple or a couple with one or two children over eight years of age. It can sleep a maximum of four adults, two of whom must be prepared to climb a ladder into the loft.

The Lodge
The Lodge consists of four suites. All the suites are open plan having two easy chairs, TV and kitchenette. The kitchenette is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, two plate cooker, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and cookware. The separate ensuite bathrooms consists of shower, hand basin and toilet. Linen and towels are supplied.

• Suite 1, on ground floor. It has three single beds, two of which can easily be put together.
• Suite 2, on ground floor. It has two single beds. Can be put together.
• Suite 3, on top floor under thatch. This has three single beds, two of which can easily be put together.
• Suite 4, on top floor under thatch. One double bed.

All suites have large decks with magnificent views, overlooking Swellendam and the Langeberg Mountain Range. There is a roofed barbeque area with tables and benches. Parking is off road.

Attractions and Activities


We offer in house, aromatherapy, reflexology and energy healing. Our situation is within easy walking distance are a selection of restaurants and coffee shops, the Drostdy Museum, Groote Kerk, Sulina Fairae Sanctuary, pottery studio, art galleries and supermarkets.

On our doorstep is a nine hole golf course, squash courts, gymnasium, tennis courts, bowling greens, horse riding, mountain biking, Marloth Nature Reserve with three dams, one of which you can swim in, liqueur tasting at the Wildebraam Cellar, young berry picking in season, Bontebok National Park, air field - air flips and gliding, Buffeljagsriver Dam with water sport and sunset cruises, Suurbrak which is a mission settlement and the picturesque Tradouws Pass.

Within easy driving distance is Malgas which has the only hand drawn pont left in the country. Cape Agulas, Africa’s southern most tip. Groot Vaders Bosch Nature Reserve (bird watching in bird hides and lovely walks), De Hoop Nature Reserve, Witsand beach (whale watching) and Robertson wine route are also nearby. Montagu - a farm in the area offers tractor rides up the mountain to see the most spectacular views and a lunch (numbers permitting). Montagu also has hot pools at the Avalon Springs complex.

Swellendam is on the major coach companies’ route connecting the main towns.
