This family-run Bed & Breakfast is situated in Paternoster, one of the oldest fishing villages on the West Coast of South Africa, only 90 minutes from Cape Town. Owners Petro and Koos We are committed to making your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. Koos and Petro offer comfortable cottage style rooms, with separate entrances. Relax on the sun deck or patio and enjoy the sea view or stroll along the pristine beaches, only 100 metres away. Sample delightful country breakfasts and typical West Coast hospitality in the dining room. BreakfastBreakfast is prepared by us in your presence and is served in the main house with a homely atmosphere. The village offers two good restaurants for lunch and dinner, and we will gladly assist with recommendations and reservations. Both restaurants are within walking distance. AccommodationOur 5 en suite rooms are decorated in a warm and comfortable cottage style with a choice of queen double or twin single beds. Two rooms are upstairs and have fireplaces and ceiling fans inside. These rooms lead out onto a sun deck from where there is a view to the ocean which is no more than 80 meters from the house. Two more rooms are downstairs. There is also a two bedroom family unit sharing a bathroom, which makes it more affordable for a family of 3 or 4 persons. Children aged 16 years and older are welcome. All our rooms offer coffee and tea facilities and a small fridge. A laundry service is available. Our facilities are smoke free and smoking is only allowed outside the rooms. We accept all major credit cards. The village offers a small store where basic foodstuffs can be obtained. Vredenburg is 15km away, and offers supermarkets, banks and medical products and services. Attractions & Activities:Places of interest in the area include the following: Columbine Nature Reserve: This small Nature Reserve is 8 km from the village and offers lovely hikes along the picturesque coastline. During flower season (August – September) the reserve offers a wide variety of flower species. Outside the flower season the natural Strandveld is worth a visit. Columbine Lighthouse is open to the public and guided tours are offered. West Coast Fossil Park: A fascinating range of extinct animal fossils are to be seen here. The list includes an African bear, lion-sized saber-toothed cats and short necked giraffe called Sivatheres. West Coast National Park: The park surrounds the Langebaan lagoon, one of twelve world hotspots wader birds. Berg River Estuary: Visit the Bokkom (dried fish) industry along the Berg river and take a boat trip to do bird watching. ACCREDITATIONS
