There is a launderette not far from the unit, as well as a ski boat club and lots of little pubs. The area is well known for its fishing, either from the beach or off a boat. Other activities include surfing, kayaking, hiking and biking. The beach is beautiful for long walks and offers many little tidal pools and shells washed up on the beach.
The swimming beach at Glenmore is manned by lifeguards during holidays and protected by shark nets. There is a quaint little take-away that serves the most delicious burgers. The skeleton of an old fishing trawler, the Nightingale which ran aground in 1933, is still evident on the beach.
The surrounding area has much to offer, such as Port Edward (for quick and convenient shopping) as well as the famous MacBanana for the most delicious imported condiments and snacks. Their pancake breakfast is a must at least once.
