Welcome to Little Samadhi … a holiday for the soul! While our bodies might need rest, our souls call out for activity. Our souls represent who we really are: creative, adventurous, resourceful and full of energy. These deep inner needs are met when we give ourselves the time to retreat.
Little Samadhi is a unique, beautifully situated small retreat and B&B located on a hilltop overlooking the village of Barrydale in an area known as the Little Karoo, Western Cape, South Africa. The Sanskrit word Samadhi means bliss or enlightenment - and you can find it in the Little Karoo!
Luxurious, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Warm, personalized attention in a caring ambiance firmly rooted in yogic principals. Your well being is the key word. Whether you merely wish to overnight and do a little yoga to stretch your travel-weary body, or have a “tailor made” retreat, we are here to facilitate your rejuvenation, recuperation and rest. During your stay we will serve you simply delicious, healthy, wholesome and, wherever possible, organic vegetarian meals.
Little Samadhi is a smoke-free zone and we do not serve alcohol. We do not have television or DStv, although Wi-Fi is available and mobile phone reception is good.
Little Samadhi offers comfortable accommodation in understated elegance … Karoo style! We have two luxury en-suite bedrooms, a comfortable living and dining area, and ample indoor and outdoor space for you to relax and feel at home in.
Little Samadhi is situated in the Little Karoo village of Barrydale, approximately 250km from Cape Town. The scenically beautiful area lies on the popular Route 62 and can be reached either by the N1 (through Worcester, Roberton and Montagu) or the N2 via Swellendam and the majestic Tradouw Pass. Midway between Cape Town and George, the drive takes approximately 3 hours. Quaint Barrydale is an ideal stopover on the way to The Garden Route, or a comfortable enough distance from Cape Town for a weekend getaway.
What makes a stay at Little Samadhi unique is the experience of being completely nurtured in a way that your individual needs are taken care of. Atma’s intuitive understanding of these needs is deeply honored. Whether you come for an energetic Yoga intensive, a ‘detox’, “time out” to process a major life change, or simply to deeply rest, every effort is made to ensure that you leave with a greater sense of rejuvenation, reconciliation and recuperation.
