The 150 acre Estate has wide vistas and the Crocodile River flowing through it. Lethabo is only 20 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria, situated 10 minutes from Lanseria Airport in The Cradle of Humankind, The Rhenosterspruit Conservancy and the Oori Game Reserve.

Stunning in stone and thatch, Lethabo has been published in Habitat and has featured on Top Billing and other magazine productions for its uniquely South African décor. The function venue and restaurant flows seamlessly onto wooden decks over the cascading river with wraparound views of the Oori Game Reserve and the Magaliesberg.

Accommodation

Willow Tree Hideaway
Our gorgeous, private, Willow Tree Hideaway is an organic, thatched boudoir with a tree house feel. Set on a raised wooden deck under a huge Willow Tree and cocooned in dense reeds, the Willow Tree is on the banks of a quiet stretch of the fast flowing Crocodile River. Indoors a sunken Jacuzzi spa bath, surround sound stereo and decadently romantic furnishings complete with Persian carpets, silk cushions and a mosquito net, set the scene. Outdoors, a large, double hammock, fire brazier and beautifully set dining area (weather permitting) complete the picture.

The River Cottage
The River Cottage is an absolutely private gem on a beautiful wild stretch of the Crocodile River. This gorgeously furnished, two roomed stone cottage has a surround sound and outdoor stereo and a cozy lounge with a fireplace. Upstairs is a loft bedroom with a skylight for you to enjoy the night sky or a downstairs, a four-poster bedroom with mosquito net and Persians, overlooking the rapids. On your private river bank, a double hammock strung over a the river invites you to laze away the day whilst gently rocking over the river. You will arrive to chilled sparkling wine and delicious hors d’ouvres, so that you can climb into the bubbling Jacuzzi on a wide furnished outdoor deck overlooking the river.

Rock Pool Lodge
The private thatched, Rock Pool Lodge includes the Paddock Suite, comprising a lounge and dining area with a fireplace, leading out to a beautiful outdoor garden area with a rock Koi pond and swimming pool. It has three bedrooms and bathrooms. The en suite Paddock Room, with real horses, the en-suite Koi Pond Room and The Loft Bedroom which doubles as a DSTV Lounge. With private river access to a thatched and sheltered picnic spot, you can retreat to watch the abundant bird life and enjoy our gorgeous gourmet picnics.

The Rock Pool Lodge’s spacious Luxury Master bedroom is beautifully furnished and flows seamlessly out onto a wide wooden deck out to the rock swimming pool and Koi pond through huge glass and wood sliding doors. The en suite bathroom is separated from the bedroom by a large fish tank and glass ceiling through which you can gaze at the night sky whilst languishing in your double Jacuzzi spa bath.

Die Izindala Farmhouse
In line with our Green and of Eskom’s grid approach, Die Izindala (meaning recycled things in Zulu) Farmhouse has been furnished using recycled and loved things. This old colonial style Farmhouse is elegant and enchanting. Each room is individually decorated using beautiful objects from other uses – horse tack, old crocheted lace, antique handbags, that sort of thing.

Stables Cottage
The Stables Cottage is our three roomed, optional self catering unit. It has one small en suite bedroom suitable for a couple and a very large master bedroom with a Jacuzzi spa bath and fireplace with stunning views of the Magaliesberg and Rhenosterkop mountain. It has a large main room, also with a fireplace and en suite bathroom and a kitchen for self catering, if desired. It can either be used as a lounge / dining room, or it can be used as another bedroom for a couple or a room to pile kids or single people in. Part of the room is a loft area which is a fabulous chill spot. Meals can be enjoyed at the riverside restaurant if required and picnics can be arranged at its own private riverside picnic spot.

Weddings

At Lethabo you will have exclusivity of the venue. This means plenty of time and no constraints to enjoy your special day to its fullest. We treat each wedding as a unique, spiritual ceremony. We customize everything to suit you specifically, from the set up to the menu and your perfect day ends with a night in The Willow Tree Hideaway. Conferences

Lethabo’s conference packages include a light breakfast with freshly baked hot cheese puffs, sund dried tomato or bacon strips, homemade healthy muesli and honey crunchies, Italian filter coffee and a variety of teas and infusions, a morning tea break with delicious homemade muffins with strawberry jam and whipped cream, a delicious and wholesome three course lunch and an afternoon tea break with home baked delights.

Flip Charts, Data projector with a 3 meter wide suspended screen, mints, pen and paper are all also included. Our conference room is a restful place with beautiful art and objects from all over the world and the soothing song of the river in the background to invigorate your spirit. The space can accommodate groups from 10 to 60 delegates in comfort.

Teambuilding

Lethabo is 150 acres of Riverine Nature Reserve and due to its size and varied landscape we can offer almost any teambuilding activity you can imagine through outsourced suppliers.
Our unique Firedancing Team build is a must! Great fun and wonderful de-stresser it builds team spirit through choreography and at the same time is fabulous entertainment!

Spa

The SoulKhaya is an award winning Spa for their unusual and holistic treatments (utterly amazing and not to be missed) . They are both Rieke masters and the only Spa owners also on the South African Spa Association.

Picnics

Lethabo’s very special boudoir style romantic picnic is in unique and absolutely private lover’s retreat on the river. Tucked into the river bank, a little thatched gazebo shelters a beautifully made up bed with flowers, petals and carpets. The very adventurous can swim in the river behind the waterfall downriver of your picnic table, so bring swimming gear and takkies and enjoy gourmet food, chilled Cap de Classique and a cooler box of drinks.

The luxury Kingfisher and Fish Eagle picnic spots are private and surrounded by tall reeds and sheltered under an enclosed thatch Gazebo. The interiors are designed for romance with a comfortable double bed, cushioned flop spot. Gourmet picnic baskets are set up at a table under Caribbean umbrellas and can be enjoyed at the comfort of a laid table on a private stretch of river with abundant birdlife. There is chilled complimentary semi sparkling wine and waters and gourmet cuisine in the picnic baskets.

Or you can enjoy one of our gourmet picnics suited for a great day’s outing next to the river to de-stress from the rigours of city life.
