Located in the unspoilt Garden Route National Park, Lakelands Farm is set on 25 hectares of lush open fields bordered by indigenous forest and overlooking Swartvlei lake and the Dunemole Nature reserve. It offers a beautiful venue for intimate weddings and functions for 150-250 guests. Lakelands farm is positioned at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with natural wild garden paths leading down to the stunning lily-pad covered pools of the Wolwe River.
Lakelands Farm is a distinctly unique and very special venue, perfect for special days and exceptional occasions. With there being so many uniquely beautiful areas on the farm, it lends itself to being a wonderfully versatile venue. Choose to exchange vows next to the river, under the giant Belumbra tree or in the Protea or Olive fields. Celebrate afterwards by picnicking at the river, dining and dancing in the lovely old farm shed or set up a giant Bedouin in the fields next to the labyrinth.
Ample and safe parking is provided in one of the fields. Follow the track lined with candle lanterns through indigenous fynbos up the hill until you arrive at Lakelands Farm Shed- perfect for a fairytale wedding.
Lakelands Farm Shed is a rustic, romantic farm shed that epitomizes old school country charm with an air of elegance. Imagine low-lit hanging lanterns and fairy lights with hundreds of tiny candles lining wooden-clad walls all set on the edge of a belt of indigenous forest with a view over Swartvlei Lake. Style, flair and elegance are brought in with colour, texture, and décor and draping. This venue epitomizes a warm South African farm wedding.
This venue seats up to 150 people but we can accommodate up to 250 guests by setting up a luxury freeform tent in the open fields below the shed.
Located under a sprawling-branched ancient Belumbra tree with views of Swartvlei Lake behind it, the open air Chapel makes for the most picture-perfect setting for the sacred moment when you exchange vows. Whether you choose an early morning, midday or late afternoon wedding, the lighting and setting is truly spectacular. Greeting your guests can be done whilst walking through the flowing labyrinth nearby- a distinctly unique experience.
The service can also be set up on one of the white-sand islands alongside the river where perfect reflections, birdsong and natural hues and textures surround you. Or if you prefer, you can have your service on one of the picturesque beaches close-by with romantically draped chairs and a gazebo, before returning to Lakelands Farm Shed for your reception.
An accredited guesthouse is available 2km from the farm and the honeymoon cottage is included in the wedding package for the bridal couple. There are many accommodation establishments within 8km of Lakelands Farm.
