Experience the art of hospitality at Ku De Ta, a Bed & Breakfast / Guesthouse in the heart of the sub tropical Lowveld, amongst all the splendour of the Mpumalanga Lowveld. Alma Mullin, a forester, and the first woman in the world to do a lumberjacks course in Europe, build the original mansion in the early 1990s. I bought the property when she decided to go to a retirement village, and after extensive renovations and adding on about another 500 square meters of building, Ku De Ta White River started trading. ACCOMMODATIONWe have 7 en-suite rooms, all with private entrances. Most of the rooms have a private outside courtyard (and some have an outside shower in the courtyard). Some of the rooms have a large farm style veranda ideally suited to the Lowveld climate. All bedrooms are individually decorated with solid, bold, Indonesian Teak furniture along minimalist lines to add to the feeling of peace, serenity and tranquillity. FACILITIESThe Koi pond, gently cascading all around the house, meandering in and out of the courtyards, reflects a feeling of calm delight. The spacious lounge with its oversized daybeds is ideal for lazy, relaxing afternoons. Breakfast, is served in the dining room, where all the windows and doors can be stacked away to open the entire space to the front garden. Dinner on request, please give us a days notice. THE GARDENSThe lush subtropical garden with it’s rolling lawn, majestic Royal palms, large dappled shade trees, orchids, epiphytic ferns, colourful shrubs and rare plant collectors plants is a cool escape. ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIESWe're in the country town of White River, amongst all the splendours of the Lowveld. Blyde River Canyon, Kruger National Park, Historical Barberton and Pilgrims Rest. The Crocodile Gorge en route to Maputo, or one of the many private Game lodges. Interesting craft shopping at Casterbridge, and dining at some of the finest restaurants. ACCREDITATIONS
