AccommodationThe three self-catering, apartments, the one bedroom Merlot and Pinotage Suites, and the two bedroom Riesling Suite, have private entrances with direct access from secure parking - no stairs to climb with suitcases! The apartments are serviced Monday - Friday, and guests can also take advantage of a full on-site laundry service. Alternatively, all apartments have irons and ironing boards. The spacious kitchens are fully equipped with a stove, double door fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, coffee machine and quality cutlery, glassware and crockery. The Merlot Suite Wake up to the sight of yachts in the bay, and the sound of the gulls circling overhead! This beautiful 100 sqm apartment has an attractive sitting room with a comfortable sofa and a fireplace for those colder winter evenings. It opens onto a balcony with a built in gas barbecue; a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the bay. The spacious cherry wood kitchen is fully equipped and there is a breakfast bar with 2 stools, as well as a dining table and chairs, which seats 4. The large air conditioned bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. The queen-size bed is fitted with cotton percale linen, there is plenty of wardrobe space and there is a comfy chair to sit and enjoy the stunning view of False Bay. The Pinotage Suite This spacious 120 sqm apartment is located next to pool and garden. It has a well-appointed sitting room with additional sleeper couch and a dining area for 4. It opens onto a private patio with gas barbecue – ideal for summer dining. There is comfortable seating, a fireplace for cozy winter evenings, satellite television, DVD/CD and hi-fi, plus a dining area for 4. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and also has a granite bar counter with stools. The sumptuous bedroom has a king size bed, ample wardrobe space, and its own satellite TV. The spacious en-suite bathroom has a ‘slipper’ bath and double shower. Comments from our guests have already described this stunning apartment as “extremely comfortable, a real ’home-from-home’, with wonderful views.” The Riesling Suite This large 150 sqm two bedroom apartment is ideal for a family of four, or for two couples traveling together. The spacious bedrooms are both en-suite, one with a corner bath and separate shower, toilet & hand basin, and one with a shower, toilet & hand basin. The main bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedrooms has large twin beds, with cotton percale linen. Both rooms have ample wardrobe space, and the rooms are large enough to accommodate comfortable seating – one even has a sofa on which to relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy the outstanding view. The sitting room, which also affords a beautiful sea view, is open plan to the spacious kitchen/diner, which is fully equipped and has a granite top bar counter with 4 stools, as well as a dining table and chairs for 4 people. For guests wishing to barbecue there is a lovely ‘Zen’ garden outside the apartment for alfresco dining, with breathtaking views of the Helderberg Mountains – watch them turn pink as the sun sets. LocationHighcliffe House is close to safe, sandy beaches, and from July to November False Bay is a haven for whale and dolphin watching, as well as for many water sports, particularly fishing and yachting, as Gordon’s Bay boasts two harbours - the old fishing harbour and Harbour Island – a yachtsman’s paradise. Shark Cage Diving, Hiking, and Quad Biking are all available nearby. In addition, there are 5 championship golf courses all within 15 Km and the wonderful Cape Winelands are just 10 km away, starting with the Helderberg wine region and on to Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.
