My son and I stumbled upon The Grendon House during our trip to S. Africa for the 2010 World Cup. His words exactly, "we have found the friggin Martha Stewart of S. Africa"....the attention to detail concerning the guests comfort and well being were unlike anything we have ever experienced. When was the last time you turned back your covers and found a fuzzy warm hot water bottle awaiting you? A beautiful, safe oasis in a manicured, secured neighborhood, our hosts seem to anticipate our every need, arranged safe and prompt transfers, and even accompanied us on a very special shopping expedition to a fabulous newly renovated area we would have never found on our own (rivaled the shops of New York, tres chic!). I cannot say enough about how special the Grendon House is. Go! |

My friend & I stayed at Grendon House for 4 nights at the start of our World Cup tour in South Africa.
As a headline, our time there was unlike anything I've experienced before. Kim & John, as our hosts, literally could not do enough for us. Whether it be lifts into town, advice on what Safari to go on or just teaching us the basics of croquet ahead of a relaxing game in the sun. They were truely fantastic.
The house itself is set in a very secure neighbourhood & at no point during my stay did I feel uncomfortable.
When I return to South Africa I can't wait to go back to Grendon House, I cannot recommend it enough. |

My husband and I recently stayed at Grendon after spending some time on safari. I was very impressed by not only the home but the location. It is only a few blocks from some amazing shopping and restaurants. The owners were wonderful in suggesting many places to visit and most importantly for my husband and I, to eat. The living room is incredible with a huge fireplace that was lit at night and relaxing in front of it gave us the opportunity to talk over the days events and relax. We also have some new ideas for how we would like to design our own home now. We had such an incredible time here and we only wish we could have been able to stay a bit longer. I highly recommend this guest house and look forward to staying here again soon. Thank you! |

My wife and I stayed at Grendon house and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an ideal location next to Sandton and our hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable about the locality and Johannesburg as a whole. I have stayed in many places throughout southern Africa and it is a real treat to find someone who is so effervescent with information about their area. Grendon house is beautifully designed and is situated in a very safe and tranquil area. Waking up to nothing but the sound of ibis was something i was not expecting in the center of Jo'burg. I would fully recommend this to anyone traveling to the area. |

I had the pleasure of staying at Grendon house recently and had a wonderful time. Grendon house is a beautifully designed, large and luxurious residence surrounded by lush gardens, situated in a highly secured and exclusive suburb of Johannesburg. My elegant and comfortable bedroom and bathroomand were located in a separate guest wing which ensured privacy and quiet. I was served a an extensive breakfast on the large patio overlooking the garden, sunset drinks by the pool and a choice of dinner by candle light in the garden or in the elegant dining room. The property is an oasis of luxury and quiet after the noise and traffic of Johannesburg. The owners of the property are incredibly welcoming and I felt totally spoilt by the kind and attentive way in which they hosted me. Staying at Grendon house is a unique and luxurious experience and very highly recommended! |
