Fairwood at Oubaai is a luxury, self-catering home situated on the secure Oubaai Golf Estate, with 24 hour security and access controlled entrance. The house is located in the Mountain View area of Oubaai Golf Estate, and as the name suggests, offers amazing views of the Outeniqua Mountain Range.

ACCOMMODATION


The accommodation is North facing and offers spacious accommodation which has been furnished to a high standard and can accommodate 8 - 10 people.

The Accommodation includes 4 bedrooms upstairs, and a fifth (domestic quarters) downstairs, a family room, large lounge, dining room (sits 10), fully equipped kitchen, utility (dishwasher, tumble dryer, washing machine) and large pantry. DSTV (dual view) is installed for our guests enjoyment. A large undercover stoep is the ideal place to relax and take in the magnificent views of the Outeniqua Mountain Range.

Every effort has been made to make our guests feel welcomed and we aim to provide you with all that you may require during your stay at Fairwood at Oubaai. We employ a full-time housekeeper who works Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays) who takes care of all household chores allowing our guests to relax and enjoy their holiday.

FACILITIES


Fairwood at Oubaai is equipped with a pool and jacuzzi. For the active visitor there is 8km of walking trails mapped within the estate for your enjoyment. A number of playgrounds have been installed throughout the Estate for the enjoyment of the younger visitor.

A driving range is available for that ever needed practice before you tee off. For your convenience in getting around the estate, a four seater golf cart is provided.

ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES


Oubaai Golf Course is Ernie Els’ first signature golf course in South Africa. The 18-hole golf course is surrounded by views of the Outeniqua Mountains, the Gwaing River Valley and the Indian Ocean. Only 8 kms from George Airport which services other areas of South Africa, Oubaai is conveniently located for national and international visitors alike. George is situated in the heart of the Garden Route, almost equal distance between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth (approx. 425km).

Fairwood at Oubaai is the ideal base for sport lovers, nature enthusiasts, bird watchers and a great base from which to explore the Garden Route. Alternatively, you can explore what George itself has to offer. Golf is a favourite past time of many visitors to George, and locals alike. There are many golf courses in the area, including, Fancourt, Mossel Bay, George Golf Club, Pezula, Simola and of course, Oubaai.

Canoeing, horseriding, fishing, surfing, cycling, hiking, bird watching, and beautiful beaches are all available within easy reach of Fairwood at Oubaai. Herold’s Bay is only 2km from Oubaai Golf Estate and is popular with surfers and those who like to cast a line. There are two tidal pools and plenty of rock pools to keep occupy the children.

Victoria Bay is approximately 15 km East along the N2 highway. It is a picturesque bay where you can relax on the beach, fish, surf and swim. In the opposite direction is Glentana, a breath taking stretch of beach. During the right season you will be able to view dolphins and whales. George Botanical Gardens, and George Museum are close to George Town Centre.

If you wish to explore further afield, many day trips are possible. Recommendations would include Outdshoorn which is situated in the Klein Karoo 55 kms inland from George. Here you will be able to visit Ostrich Farms, Cango Wildlife Ranch and Cango Caves. It also hosts the popular annual Klein Karoo Arts Festival during March/April.

Knysna is a picturesque town and is situated around a lagoon. The inlet to the lagoon is known as ‘The Heads’ and is well worth a visit, or a boat trip can be taken from the waterfront area. Other attractions in the area include Monkey Land, Knysna Elephant Park, Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, Bungy Jumping and the 216-metre Bloukrans Bridge (The highest commercial bungee jump in the world) attracts adventure-seekers from all around the world, and is less than an hour west of George.
