Accommodation


Luxury suites
The Cradle Lodge has six luxury rooms, each with en suite bathrooms and private lounge areas. Each suite has its own private lounge equipped with TV and a bar fridge. All suites have spacious luxury en suite bathrooms and some of the suites have their own private patio.

Luxury Annex suites
At the Cradle Lodge two of the rooms are in the Annex building and are equipped with king-size beds, a sitting corner and a TV.

Facilities include a swimming pool.

Dining


The double volume restaurant area can accommodate up to 20 guests and opens onto an outside deck. The upper level offers banqueting seating possibilities for 10 guests, a library and indulgent conversational areas.

A cocktail bar, with DSTV is available for the exclusive use of the guests and opens up to pool and boma facility. Wireless internet facility is available in the cocktail bar for guests convenience. Set dinners can be prepared on request.

Our authentic Cradle Boma offers guests an unforgettable lunch or dinner experience. Under open skies, our chefs prepare meals over coal fires - the way ancient civilizations did. From ‘Skewered’ and ‘Potjie’ to traditional Braais (Barbeques), our menus are inspired by the freshest ingredients and influenced by an array of world culinary cultures.

Conferences


The Cradle Boardroom accommodates 20 guests and is equipped with a flipchart and screen. All other conference requirements such as data projectors and Plasma Screens can be arranged. The Boardroom also leads onto the roof terrace where, weather permitting, lunch, tea and coffee breaks are served.

Activities and Attractions


Comfortable walking trails in a dolomite-strewn veld, offers a welcome escape and peace of mind with various private rest areas scattered across the Estate.

The Cradle of Humankind offers numerous tourist attractions including the newly opened Maropeng Center, the world-renowned Sterkfontein Caves, where the 3 million year old fossil “Little Foot” was discovered, the Wonder Caves Observatory, and numerous nearby Game Reserves including the Lion and Rhino Reserve. Horse riding, bunjee jumping, go-karting, hot air ballooning, quad biking, canopy tours, and day spa facilities are some of the indulgent activities on offer within a 10 km radius.

For International visitors the Lodge offers a unique alternative to staying over in Johannesburg. OR Tambo International Airport is situated within 45 minutes drive and Lanseria Airport 15 minutes from Cradle Lodge.
