About Chetnole Cottages
Set in the well known bird watching village of Wakkerstroom, Chetnole Cottages offers guests a choice to two cottages, Claystone and Westover Cottage.
When staying at the cottages, guests can enjoy the beautiful views and good birding, cycling and walking. There are a number of restaurants, pubs, shops and historical cemetery in town as well as a museum and many historical buildings to cater for the more culturally inclined.
Self Catering Accommodation
Each cottage is fully equipped for self catering and has a lounge area with full DStv and an open fireplace. Each cottage has parking spaces available and braai facilities are provided.
Claystone Cottage (sleeps 4):
This cottage is wheelchair-friendly. There are two en-suite bedrooms which are furnished with a double and twin beds. The lounge is open plan and the cottage is also equipped with a dish washer. There are mountain views from Claystone Cottage.
Westover Cottage (sleeps 4):
Westover Cottage has an airy sunroom and two bedrooms. One room is en-suite and there is a separate shower room for the second bedroom. The kitchen has a dishwasher.
Wakkerstroom is well-known for its birding; offering the birder the best of South Africa’s grassland endemic and other grass-loving bird species. A good cross-section of water birds and a reasonable complement of forest birds are found throughout Wakkerstroom and make for some exhilarating South African bird viewing.
