About Blanco Guest Farm and Holiday Resort
Welcome to Blanco ... where you can find your happy place. Blanco Guest Farm and Holiday Resort has been running for over 100 years. Tucked away at the foot of the Winterberg Mountains, just outside Tarkastad, itís one of the Eastern Capeís best-kept secrets.
Blanco is an old fashioned family holiday the way it should be, offering unpretentious country-style comfort and hospitality in the Eastern Cape interior. Blanco Guest Farm is a registered nature reserve. It is a place thatís always ready to remind you what holidays are all about. Allow Chris and Kim to welcome you to Blanco and experience country-style hospitality.
Our cottages are serviced and freshened up every day. All of the cottages have private bathrooms. The cottages are equipped with heaters for the cold months and fans during the warmer months. We also provide tea and coffee for you to enjoy in the early mornings.
Blancoís Manor House consists of four spacious units and a wonderful communal lounge and dining room area. The surrounding gardens and views are the perfect fit for someone who wants a truly revitalising holiday. Comfortable and spacious, our rooms are still simple and are equipped with nothing more than lovely country charm, which complements our 100-year old guest farm.
Each unit is completely private for individual families and each has its own garden or private balcony. Alternatively, for a group of four families to take the house together, it works beautifully as added to the spacious rooms, it boasts an extremely tasteful and spacious private lounge (with a magnificent fireplace for the winters) and dining room area for everyone to congregate. As a holiday destination, one could not ask for more comfort whilst having the full farm experience at the same time. Dining still takes place in the main Blanco dining room.

Kids at Blanco
Blanco is a wonderland for children to explore: whether itís on bicycles through the countryside, on horseback through our beautiful grounds or on our tractor cart that takes them to an enchanting fairy playground. Itís no surprise then that kids love Blanco. Many of them love it so much, in fact, that they have been known to hide under beds while mom and dad are packing the car and getting ready to go home.
Blanco also loves kids, so much so that we offer them their own dining room called the Lionís Den and a playroom, aptly named the Wreck Room. And thatís exactly what it is: their own space to let their hair down and do exactly as they please. Itís their holiday too, after all, and Blanco caters to kids of all ages to ensure they have the time of their lives.
At Blanco there are no TVs or technological devices to numb their brains and keep them seated. Instead we offer a stimulating environment to inspire creativity, match their energy levels and really just let them be kids. That means simple stuff like playing in the mud and, yes mums, getting their hands dirty while everyone gets to enjoy a family holiday. It means climbing trees with no shoes and, for the duration of their stay with us, running riot while our dedicated nannies run and clean up after them.
Farm life is a long-lost tradition in modern living and we encourage children to milk cows, feed rabbits and ride horses with reckless abandon. We play outside games in the fresh air and offer treasure hunts to help them release pent-up energy and stimulate them across acres of unspoilt Karoo landscape.
