Self Catering Accommodation
Birdsong Cottage Number 9:
Number Nine is a beautifully renovated and refurbished home situated at the end of Poplar Drive with uninterrupted views of rolling hills, forests and a lake. The house has two large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (bath and shower) and a third bedroom with a shower only.
The fully equipped kitchen is open to the spacious dining room and lounge. Full DStv is provided and a Jetmaster fire gives genuine warmth to the whole area. The furniture is both comfortable and of top quality.
The sliding doors from this area lead onto a large wooden deck which has panoramic views of the area; again no expense has been spared and the deck furniture is of top quality. From the other side of the lounge you can access a covered patio area in case of inclement weather.
The house is equipped with all that you will need to ensure that you have a hassle free stay. All linen and towels are provided, the crockery is good quality (and all the same!) and the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped. There is a large kettle braai outside and a quality oven and hob in the kitchen. A cleaning service is included and our housekeeper is both honest and reliable. Covered parking is provided at the back of the house and accommodates two cars at a time.
Birdsong Cottage Number 10:
This beautiful cosy home has absolute privacy, being overlooked by no other home or even passing traffic. Set into the side of the lower reaches of Bergview, in a lovely garden, the home overlooks an ancient indigenous forest of great importance. Many species of mammal and over 150 different bird species live happily in this beautiful environment. Regular sightings of Bushbuck are made from the deck where the dawn chorus seems to carry on all day.
The stone clad home blends seamlessly into the environment! Three bedrooms, all with their own ensuite bathrooms, are decorated and furnished with top quality finishes. The kitchen and open plan dining room / lounge are light and airy during the day, thanks to the picture windows, and warm and cosy at night, thanks to the fireplace. Full DStv is provided as well as a DVD machine and large LCD TV. This house was fully renovated in 2011 and is pristine.
A daily domestic cleaning service is included, carried out by honest and reliable staff. The linen is of good quality as are the towels (soft and fluffy!). The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher! There is a built in braai next to the deck and a Weber by the covered patio, so all weather outdoor living is possible. There is covered parking for two cars.
Birdsong Cottage Number 2:
Birdsong Cottage, 2 Dais Crescent is a stunning, four bedroom home that sleeps 8 adults. Number Two is the most upmarket self catering home in the Champagne valley and will disappoint no-one. All rooms have double, queen or king b eds and top quality linens.
The kitchen is well quipped with a double oven, 5 burner hob, fridge / freezer, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine. There is an 8 seater dining table where you can enjoy your meal and a comfy lounge area with a plasma TV and sliding doors leading out to the deck.
There is a fabulous entertainment area that boasts a bar and a TV with use of the PVR decoder and a DVD player.
Attractions and Activities
The Champagne Valley has many attractions and activities available to our guests, including the longest Canopy Tour in Africa, Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey display centre, top quality golf course, quad biking, walks in the World Heritage Site (mountains) and much more. A local hotel provides access to our guests (limited in peak season). For the shoppers, there is a rug and candle factory nearby, a craft based shopping experience at Thoksiza and local shops for emergency items. Visitors are advised to bring their groceries with them as these shops are not Woolworths!
