Other entertainment options in the metro include cinema complexes, numerous sophisticated shopping malls, restaurants to suit any palate, a vibrant nightlife as well as annual and seasonal festivals and events.

Red Location Museum
The Museum is designed to challenge conventional views of museum design. It draws on the work of Andreas Huyssen who has written extensively on the concept of memory and history. Visitors are not treated as consumers but active participants. The conventions of representing history as a single story are challenged through the design of the museum spaces. The past is represented as a set of memories that are disconnected yet bound together by themes.

Port Elizabeth Apple Express
The apple express is a popular train trip on narrow gauge track through beautiful scenery and over the Van Stadens River Bridge which is 77 metres high. A great day out if you are a train enthusiast and fun even if you are not.

No 7 Castle Hill Museum
This carefully restored 1827 cottage is Port Elizabeth’s oldest Settler’s house.

Excellent accommodation. Arrived early in the morning (8am) on an overnight bus and went straight on a tour of Addo with Mosaic Tours, but left our bags...
