Map showing The Beach House Britannia Bay
Directions to The Beach House Britannia Bay
The beach house is situated 1h30 from Cape Town. Take the R27 (West Coast Road) from Table View, carry on for about 100km, till you get a sign for 'Vredenburg', turn left. At the first major intersection in Vredenburg, turn right at the robots (Veldrif Road). This road will take you out of Vredenburg. Carry on for about 12 km, then turn left at the 'St.Helena Bay / Stompneus Bay' sign. You will see a big billboard with 'Shelley Point'.
Carry on for about another 10 km, then turn left at the 'Shelley Point' signs before 'De Agterbaaier' supermarket.Do not take the first Shelley Point sign you see.
Turn right at the big Brittania Bay white wall 'Gates' which is about 2km down the road then turn immediately right again into Golden Mile Blvd. This will take you to the Shelley Point old main entrance arches. The Beach House is the last cul de sac on the left (called Steenbrasbaai St) before the gates. The house is straight ahead in the cul de sac with wooden balua steps and yukka trees.
There is an alternative route to come via Malmesbury. We have been using this road of late especially on busy holidays and weekends as its much less crazy than the R27 and has fewer cars. It's a 20 minute longer trip but well worth it as its a beautiful country road.
To use this option Take the N7 from Cape Town and then the R45 after Malmesbury.
