Barleywood Cottage is a gorgeous, very spacious, (130square metre) two-bedroomed, two-bathroomed cottage with its own private entrance, garden and swimming pool. As we only have the one cottage on our property, it is private and quiet and is the perfect home-from-home retreat for that relaxing holiday!
The main bedroom upstairs is huge and has wrap-around windows to take in the beautiful mountain and valley views. This bedroom also has a balcony with beautiful mountain and valley views, full dressing room and luxury bathroom (with corner bath and shower) en-suite.
The second bedroom, downstairs, also has its own dressing room and shower and toilet en-suite. This bedroom has sliding doors leading directly out to the private pool, patio and tropical garden.
The cottage is perfect for two couples travelling together or families with older children as the two bedrooms are quite separate and private.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and a very spacious lounge/dining room which also has sliding doors leading right out to the pool, patio and garden. There is full DSTV reception, DVD player and wireless internet in the cottage. This is all included in the daily cottage rate.
The cottage is serviced and all linen and towels, beach towels, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, cool boxes etc are supplied for your use during your stay with us. Our housekeeper also offers a private laundry service (at a nominal extra cost) for stays of two weeks or longer.
Barleywood Cottage is close to all the amenities that Hout Bay has to offer as well as Cape Town, the Winelands and Peninsula attractions.
Hout Bay’s beauty is quite unforgettable with the majestic Chapmans Peak Drive and The Sentinel Mountain proudly guarding over its calm bay. From July to November Hout Bay is visited by the Southern Right Whales who stop off in our bay to calve.
Being a fishing village, Hout Bay has the freshest seafood on offer and local restaurants are renowned for their excellent food. Retail outlets in Hout Bay are a mixture of trendy and chic with a select variety of shopping outlets all around the village. Some of our more famous names are Snoekies (our fresh fish market and restaurant), The World of Birds (biggest bird park in Africa) and Mariners Wharf Emporium.
We offer help and advice with regard to car hire, adventure tours, airport transfers and deep sea fishing and cruises. We have it all in our Bay! So whether you are here to relax or explore, Hout Bay has it all!
